According to the GMAC Global Regional Trend Report, in the examination year of 20 12 (as of June 30th, 20 12), a total of 286,529 people took the entrance examination for graduate students in business administration (GMAT), setting a historical record. A total of 58 196 people in China took the GMAT exam, which is second only to the United States, accounting for 20% of the global candidates.
In the 20 12 examination year, the proportion of female candidates was 43%, which was a record high for three consecutive years. The proportion of candidates under the age of 25 is 47%, higher than 38% in 2008.
