The ancients painted plums mainly in ink and wash, with Gushan Chu Shi as the boundary, simple and elegant; And Hua Tiegan, the plum blossom of Guanjia, is full of iron. This painting "Joe Don't Fight for Spring" is full of lush foliage and red flowers, and it climbs straight into the sky, which is quite contemporary. Close-up and full composition, strong colors and vigorous brushstrokes, on the whole, set off aggressive momentum and galloping rhythm, showing indomitable spirit of struggle, which is contrary to the image of a gentleman painted by the ancients and the feminine temperament of innocent and lovely women. The theme of the work is taken from a sentence in Chairman Mao's "Bu Operator" that "Joe does not strive for spring, but only reports spring". It can be seen that the painter's plum blossom theme is the kind of revolutionary heroism full of challenges. Delicate red is a symbol of China revolution and the spiritual destination of revolutionary heroism. The overwhelming, dense and high-flying momentum intuitively showed the surging political situation at that time-"Joe" was inspiring and "Red" was inspiring! Hongmei decorated the cold of early spring with its unique Leng Yan, showing us the changes of spring, seasons and the future of our motherland. It is a witness to the time series changes in nature, and it is also a warrior who overcomes the ice and snow and "cold ling alone". At this moment, it is better to appreciate the character and tolerance of revolutionary heroism than to "enjoy plum blossoms".

In the critical period of innovation and development of Chinese painting in the 20th century, Guan Shanyue was indeed an indispensable figure. Therefore, Guan Shanyue Art Museum was established in Shenzhen to promote the artistic spirit of Shenzhen.
