Hengyang Education Bureau (hereinafter referred to as the Municipal Education Bureau) is the working department of the municipal government, at the level.
According to the Notice of the General Office of Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the General Office of Hunan Provincial People's Government on Printing and Distributing Hengyang's Institutional Reform Plan (Hunan Office [2018] No.59).
The Municipal Education Bureau implements the principles, policies and decision-making arrangements of the CPC Central Committee on education, fully implements the deployment requirements of the provincial party committee and the municipal party committee on education, and adheres to and strengthens the party's centralized and unified leadership over education in the process of performing its duties.
Main responsibilities:
(a) to implement the principles, policies, laws, regulations and rules of the national education work, formulate specific implementation measures and management systems in light of the situation in this Municipality, and supervise the implementation.
(two) to study and put forward the city's education reform and development strategy and education development plan, annual plan and the focus, structure, speed and steps of education development, and guide and coordinate their implementation.
(three) responsible for the city's basic education, vocational and technical education, adult education, preschool education, special education, private education management. Responsible for the coordination and service of colleges and universities in the city. According to the relevant regulations, undertake the examination and approval of the establishment, adjustment, renaming and revocation of various schools in secondary education.
(four) overall guidance of the city's minority education, coordination of education assistance to minority areas and poverty-stricken areas.
(five) responsible for promoting the balanced development of compulsory education and promoting education equity, responsible for the macro guidance and coordination of compulsory education, and guiding the work of ordinary high school education, preschool education and special education. Organize the examination and approval of local textbooks and entrust national textbooks to fully implement quality education.
