This paper discusses the reasons and main trends of curriculum reform of nursing education in China based on practice.
Since 1990s, under the guidance of the national policy of vigorously developing higher vocational education, more and more colleges and universities have set up higher vocational nursing education, and the reform of the training mode of nursing professionals has been deepened. However, the curriculum system and teaching content fail to fully reflect the characteristics of nursing discipline and vocational education, which are manifested in the serious shortage of knowledge of humanities and social sciences, the excessive proportion of basic medical courses, the emphasis on disease diagnosis and treatment in professional courses and the weak practical teaching links. Therefore, since 1999, we have reformed the curriculum system of nursing higher vocational education, and now the research and practice are reported as follows. 1 reform principle 1. 1 Strengthening the selection and organization of training target courses. Focusing on the goal of "training high-tech applied nursing professionals who master basic nursing theories and professional skills and engage in clinical nursing work" in nursing higher vocational education, the original courses should be organically reorganized according to the principle of integrity and comprehensiveness and the characteristics of nursing specialty, so as to integrate them into the new curriculum system suitable for nursing specialty. 1.2 Focus on overall optimization. According to the requirements of training objectives, determine the proportion and order of main courses and non-main courses, compulsory courses and elective courses, and form an internally related overall structure; Adhere to "necessity and sufficiency", strengthen humanistic quality courses, streamline and reorganize basic medical courses, and set up nursing professional courses according to life cycle model. The whole curriculum system should not only be beneficial to students' learning and development, but also to the development of nursing specialty. It can not only meet the actual needs of our country, but also gradually integrate with international nursing education. 1.3 reflects all-round development. 2 1 century, students should learn to be human, learn to recognize, learn to do things and learn to live together. The main task of school education is not only to impart basic knowledge and skills, but also to cultivate students' study habits and ability to acquire knowledge, improve nursing students' cultural taste, aesthetic taste, humanistic quality and scientific quality, and promote their all-round development. Integrating knowledge imparting, ability training and quality education to improve students' ideological and moral quality, cultural quality, professional quality and physical and mental quality in an all-round way is the ultimate goal of curriculum system reform. 1.4 keep pace with the times step by step. There is a big gap between China's nursing education and the international advanced level, which is manifested in the low level of nursing education, weak teachers and relatively backward discipline construction. Therefore, in the reform of the curriculum system, on the one hand, it should be implemented step by step; On the other hand, it is necessary to adapt to the development trend of nursing specialty and even the whole medical education and higher education, constantly revise and optimize and keep pace with the times. 2. Reform practice 2. 1 The first round of reform: the preliminary reform plan of the curriculum system of nursing specialty was determined to standardize and guide the healthy and orderly development of nursing higher vocational education. 1999, the national nursing education research group was established, with nearly 40 colleges and universities participating, and the nursing college teaching plan was organized four times. Aiming at the disadvantages of the traditional nursing curriculum system, this paper puts forward a preliminary reform plan. 2. 1. 1 Proportion of curriculum structure: The principle is to reduce basic medical courses and increase the proportion of humanities and social sciences courses and nursing professional courses. The appropriate proportion of curriculum structure is: public basic courses account for about15%; Humanities and social sciences courses account for about 15%? 20 %; Basic medical courses account for about 20%? 25 %; Nursing courses account for about 45%? 50 %。 2. 1.2 curriculum system [1]: basic medical courses were merged and reorganized, and humanities and social sciences courses and nursing courses were added. For example, human anatomy and physiology are merged and reorganized into human structure and function; Increase interpersonal communication, sociology, nursing aesthetics, community nursing and psychiatric nursing. Considering the actual situation of nursing teachers at that time, nursing professional courses were still set according to the model of medical discipline. This plan was demonstrated by the National Textbook Evaluation Committee of the Textbook Office of the Ministry of Health, and 20 planning textbooks were compiled and published. This set of teaching materials has become the first set of planning teaching materials for nursing higher vocational colleges in China. 2.2 The second round of reform: Reorganize nursing professional courses according to the life cycle model. At present, the core of curriculum system reform is the optimization of nursing courses. Since 2002, Jiujiang University Medical College (formerly Jiujiang Medical College), Harbin Medical University Branch, Hangzhou Normal University Medical College and Tianjin Medical College have worked closely together to change the mode of setting up nursing courses according to clinical disciplines. For the first time in China, nursing professional courses such as maternal and child care, child care, adult care and elderly care were organized according to the life cycle model, and teaching materials were compiled and published by Jiangxi Science and Technology Publishing House. 2.3 The third round of reform: the reform plan of engineering curriculum system for nursing specialty reform in higher vocational colleges in the new century. In 2003, the research group of "Training Mode and Curriculum System Reform and Construction of Higher Vocational Nursing Professionals", chaired by the School of Medicine of Jiujiang University, conducted further research and practice on the curriculum system reform, and decided to form a new curriculum system (table 1). The research results have attracted the attention of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and related universities, and have been adopted by the "Three-year Higher Vocational Nursing Professional Skilled Talents Training Guidance Program". In order to popularize the results of teaching reform and start the project of training skilled talents in short supply, Higher Education Press, with the members of the research group as the backbone, has jointly compiled 2 1 teaching materials with more than 20 universities. 2.4 The characteristic nursing curriculum setting mode of the new curriculum system has many classification methods, and each mode has its own advantages and disadvantages [2]. The new curriculum system absorbs the advantages of different curriculum models and forms its own characteristics. 2.4. 1 Strengthen the training objectives and dilute the subjective consciousness: due to the rapid increase and update of knowledge, the knowledge of various disciplines has been greatly expanded, and the trend of cross-integration of knowledge of various disciplines has become increasingly prominent. The traditional curriculum model overemphasizes the systematicness and integrity of the subject, regardless of its close relationship with the training objectives of nursing specialty. In the setting of new courses, we have noticed the connection and difference between disciplines and courses. Courses can be based on a single subject or a combination of multiple subjects. The choice of course content should be based on the needs of training objectives, rather than pursuing the integrity and systematicness of the subject. Therefore, the new curriculum system emphasizes wholeness and comprehensiveness, strengthens training objectives, and downplays discipline awareness. In the course name, we abandoned the traditional subject name method, but named it according to the course content, forming a course system with nursing professional characteristics.
