Speaking of Zhengzhou, people first think of Erqi Memorial Tower, Erqi Memorial Hall, Erqi Road and other places with distinctive marks of the times. On July 2 1, the motorcade came to the Erqi Memorial Tower. Erqi Memorial Tower, the full name of Zhengzhou Erqi Strike Memorial Tower, was built to commemorate the Erqi Strike (strike of Beijing-Han railway workers) that took place on February 7, 1923.
After entering Erqi Tower, we found that Zhengzhou Erqi Tower is divided into nine exhibition halls. In addition to the Preface Hall, the above eight theme exhibition halls respectively introduced the construction of Jinghan Railway and the early workers' movement, the establishment of Jinghan Railway Federation of Trade Unions, the strike of Jinghan Railway workers, the recovery and re-destruction of workers' movement, the eternal commemoration, the past lives of Erqi Tower and the memory of the city. Every floor shows us the history with vivid pictures and plain words, which makes us feel indelible memories. Everyone visited carefully, especially some old people. Some of them will stand in an exhibition hall and stare for a long time, wondering whether these great workers are their relatives and whether they are awakened by the troubled times in their memory. There is nostalgia in their eyes, as well as firmness and concentration, which makes people "afraid to speak loudly and be afraid of remembering people."
This strike is of great significance. Although it failed, the patriotism of the workers awakened the people and made people more clearly realize that imperialism and feudal warlords are the enemies of the people. Only by working hard with one heart and one mind can we achieve real liberation and freedom.
As students, when we visit these deeds and figures in modern history, we are also receiving profound education and feeling the red gene. Many parents will take their children with them, let them know what our ancestors have done, let us cherish our present life more, and let the red gene be passed down from generation to generation.
