How to improve environmental awareness
With the rapid development of economy, people's life and environment are undergoing tremendous changes: while trying to create a comfortable living world, we are also accelerating the destruction of the environment on which we live. Everyone wants to live in an environment where material civilization and spiritual civilization are highly developed and enjoy the beautiful life brought by high technology. However, we inadvertently paid a heavy price for this. The deteriorating ecological environment makes people feel the importance and urgency of protecting the environment. Fortunately, human beings are a highly intelligent group. It selectively conveys the civilization beneficial to the survival and development of human beings through a unique way of "education". Therefore, for today's environmental crisis, "education" is duty-bound to awaken people to love nature from the bottom of their hearts. Therefore, it is urgent to educate the whole people, especially the primary and secondary school students who bear the burden of human development in the future. Below, the author will talk about some experiences of "environmental education" accumulated in educational practice:

First, the use of classroom education to infiltrate environmental awareness

As the main channel to impart environmental protection knowledge, schools have unparalleled advantages. However, due to various historical and practical reasons, "environmental education" in primary and secondary schools in China started late, and there is no special education curriculum so far. The content of "environmental education" is often hidden in the knowledge of various disciplines. Professor Wang Hongqi from the Institute of Environmental Science of Beijing Normal University believes that "environmental education is a complex involving the infiltration of multi-disciplinary education". Therefore, in practical teaching, teachers should adopt the principles of in-depth research, good at discovery and flexible infiltration.

There is a lot of knowledge about environmental protection in junior high school biology textbooks, some of which are directly related to the theme of environmental protection, such as the fourth volume "Three Social Problems in the Modern World". The whole article tells the background of three social problems, namely population explosion, energy shortage and environmental pollution, the measures taken by various countries and the governance situation in China, which is easier for senior three students to understand and accept. For example, in the geography class "The Circulation of Water in Nature", teachers can penetrate the knowledge of environmental protection in time, such as the total amount of water, fresh water, available fresh water, the total amount of available fresh water per capita in China, water pollution, water resources and pollution degree in hometown, etc. With a series of figures and living examples, let students really feel the importance of protecting water resources. In the third grade of primary school, teachers can carefully record two kinds of sounds: the noisy car horn and peddler's hawking on the road, and the playing sound of guzheng "Running Water in the Mountain", which are played to students in class respectively. Everyone showed a completely different attitude, and agreed that noisy voices distracted our attention, made us feel irritable and harmful to human body. Second, carry out thematic activities to deepen environmental awareness.

While classroom teaching permeates environmental awareness, we carry out thematic activities involving teams, classes and even teachers and students of the whole school, so that students can deepen their understanding of environmental protection. For example, we organized junior high school students to hold a team meeting with the theme of "We only have one earth" in conjunction with "World Environment Day" on June 5th. By collecting various materials and playing various roles, we have profoundly revealed the importance of protecting our home on earth.

After our school was rated as a municipal-level green civilized school, the Youth League Committee and the Political Education Office launched a series of green environmental protection activities and began to prepare for the establishment of a provincial-level green civilized school. The whole activity is student-centered, taking scientific and technological practice as a breakthrough, vigorously carrying out activities to promote the harmonious development between man and nature inside and outside the campus, promoting relevant environmental protection activities to families and communities, and promoting environmental awareness to students' fathers, mothers and relatives, so as to realize the common protection of the environment on which human beings depend-the earth.

The contents of this activity include the evaluation activities of green planting corners, the recycling activities of waste batteries, the garbage recycling activities organized by the Youth League Committee, lectures on environmental protection knowledge, class meetings on environmental protection topics, environmental protection activities carried out by each class, environmental protection blackboard newspaper competitions, etc. By participating in the above series of activities, students can understand that it is everyone's responsibility to keep the environment clean and maintain the balance of the ecological environment, and gradually develop good habits of protecting the environment. During the activities, in the campus, parks, streets and communities, students consciously carried out various "clean, tidy and beautiful" activities of "starting from me, starting from now, starting from the side and starting from small things" to publicize the significance of environmental protection to the surrounding students and parents. Everyone supports and actively participates in urban greening construction, and jointly contributes to Wenzhou's striving for a national civilized city, so that everyone can become an "environmental citizen".

Third, carry out research and raise awareness of environmental protection.

Students carry out project research and inquiry learning. During the implementation of the project plan, ask questions, decide the direction of inquiry, organize inquiry, collect and sort out information, draw conclusions and take social actions. It is also an effective way to improve the understanding of environmental protection through your own research and consciously participate in the ranks of environmental protection.

1. Establish the research content of the subject. When guiding students to choose small topics for research, we should start from the small aspects around us and our surrounding environment, such as "investigation and monitoring of water quality in the upper reaches of Longwan District", "the relationship between the green belt of Airport Road and the surrounding environment", "investigation of motor vehicle exhaust emission in Renmin Road" and "investigation of abandoned plastic bottles".

2. Make a research plan. After determining the research topic, the students set out to make research plans, prepare research materials, draw up work plans in the spirit of group division of labor and cooperation, go to the library to find documents, analyze environmental protection materials found in famous books, monographs, textbooks, popular science books, newspapers and periodicals, yearbooks, etc., and formulate social questionnaires.

3. The implementation process of the study. With sufficient research plan and preparation, students went deep into schools, families, stations, food markets, communities and so on. Distribute questionnaires, collect feedback information, then conduct field measurements, collect specimens, investigate and sample, interview the masses, listen to the voices, and fully collect research data.

4. Summarize the research conclusions. After a period of in-depth investigation and study, the students collected all the information, processed it, analyzed the results and reached a conclusion. For example, the students of the research group "Collecting Waste Plastic Bottles" found that more than 4.5 billion plastic bottles are discarded every year in Wenzhou, causing the problem of "white pollution". Therefore, people think that high-tech or new methods must be adopted to solve the problem, such as using degradable plastic bottles or other substitutes. To this end, the research group also wrote to the decision makers of the Environmental Protection Bureau to show their concern about the problem of "white pollution" and seek better solutions from environmental experts. Through the investigation and monitoring of the water quality of Shangjiang River, the students found that the main pollution source of this river is domestic garbage, and the river pollution is serious. To this end, the research group also called on relevant departments to take effective measures to effectively solve the problem of river water pollution, and issued an initiative to protect residents along the Shangjiang River in the name of all teachers and students.

Students deeply understand the importance and arduousness of environmental protection through practical actions that can be seen, heard and seen. At the same time, for some potential students who are willing to engage in environmental protection work in the future, they have created preliminary environmental protection cognitive conditions, so that they can organically combine knowledge, practice and responsibility, and encourage and guide them to join the environmental protection cause.

Fourth, strengthen environmental awareness in combination with family and community.

School is the main channel for students' environmental education, and every family, community or department is also an inseparable part. Only with the joint efforts of all parties can the achievements of school environmental education be consolidated, that is, the awareness of environmental protection can truly and permanently penetrate the students' psychology.

Students' first education is at home. Any little environmental protection activities and education of parents can leave their children with the initial awareness of environmental protection, such as not spitting in public places, not throwing scraps of paper, not using phosphorus-containing washing powder, saving water, not eating wild animals such as frogs and snakes, and educating children not to climb small trees, not picking flowers casually and not trampling on the lawn. If the school actively guides, students are likely to become environmentalists.

Environmental education also needs the participation of the whole people. Only through the organization, publicity and law enforcement activities of environmental protection, news media, residents' communities and law enforcement units can the environmental awareness of all members of society be comprehensively improved and put into practice. For example, environmental protection departments, residents' communities and news media choose to hold centralized publicity and organize activities on special activity days such as "World Environment Day" and "National Tree Planting Week" every year, or "Farewell to Uncivilized and Unhealthy Cultural Performances" organized by communities, which are not limited by form and time, to expose illegal activities and strictly enforce the law. With the improvement of the environmental quality of the whole people, the whole society has formed a good atmosphere of attaching importance to and actively participating in environmental protection, thus better infecting and strengthening students' environmental awareness.

In a word, environmental protection is a systematic project, and environmental education is the unshirkable responsibility of every educator. To improve the environmental awareness of the whole nation, we need to work together, starting with dolls and injecting environmental awareness into the hearts of every child. There is only one earth for human beings-let's care and share it together!
