Seeing Yin Ye's video, I think it's nonsense by intuition and common sense. Out of responsibility, I learned about the relevant science, which further proved that it was nonsense. Recently, I have been busy with the creation and arrangement of Science Learning, and I have no time to write a special article. Now forward some comments from professionals I have seen for your reference.
1. An anecdote of Wang Jian, the founder of Huada.
In a recent speech, Wang Shi mentioned Wang Jian of Huada Gene and told an incident that happened when they climbed Mount Everest. I think it is very interesting and helpful to evaluate Wang Jian.
On 20 10, he and Wang Jian climbed Mount Everest together, which was the second time that Wang Shi climbed Mount Everest. Before reaching the peak, Wang Jian found Wang Shi and had a talk with him. Wang Jian: I want to discuss something with you.
Wang Shi asked: What is it? Wang Jian: Can you make way for me? Wang Shi: What do you mean? Wang Jian: Don't get to the top. I'll go up first, then you go up.
Wang Shi finally understood that Wang Jian was three years younger than him, and he was 59 years old that year. Prior to this, Wang Shi held the record of the oldest person in China to reach the summit of Mount Everest, which was set by him when he first reached the summit in 2003, and remained until 20 10.
Wang Jian wanted to enjoy the oldest title of China people who climbed Mount Everest in 20 minutes, and then Wang Shi broke him in 20 minutes.
After listening to Wang Jian's words, Wang Shi's brain is running at full speed. Usually Wang Jian is slower than him 1 hour. He waited not 20 minutes, but 80 minutes. After waiting for him for 80 minutes, his life was gone, so Wang Shi did not express his position. Not saying anything means not agreeing, and this matter is over.
On the day of the summit, Wang Shi walked twenty or thirty steps all the way, hoping that Wang Jian would hurry up.
Wang Shi thinks there is no need to wait for 20 minutes, just wait for 1 minute. It is a record for Wang Jian that he can reach the summit with his front foot and his back foot.
But I just didn't see the shadow of Wang Jian along the way.
Just as Wang Shi was about to climb the peak, he heard a voice above. "Hey, I arrived 20 minutes earlier than you." It is Wang Jian who yells at Wang Shi.
Wang Shi was very surprised and came back to ask Wang Jian. It turned out to be very simple. Wang Jian left an hour and a half earlier than him, and the stupid bird flew first, 20 minutes earlier than him.
This incident can tell a lot about Wang Jian's strong personality, record-breaking age and typical heroic complex.
Wang Jian is a man who dares to think and do, not stick to one pattern, has dreams, feelings and courage. Investing in Huada Gene means investing in Wang Jian to a great extent. Anyway, I like this man.
Second, relevant people's comments on Yin Ye's video
K2, Ph.D. in Systems Biology and Bioinformatics, University of Hong Kong, told me something about my participation. The "first artificially synthesized yeast" mentioned by Yin Ye does not exist.
There is a project called SC2.0, which is the artificial yeast genome project. The work published in Huada mentioned by him is a chromosome (chromosome 2) of the artificial genome.
Chromosome 2 is neither the first artificially synthesized yeast chromosome nor the first artificially synthesized yeast-even if the whole genome is purely artificially synthesized, it is not appropriate to call it the first artificially synthesized yeast.
Even, the expression "there was once a yeast father and a yeast mother" can be said to be that compulsory education failed the test to some extent (at least budding is a biology class in the first grade of junior high school). It can be said that the person who tells this story has a great cognitive bias towards what this project has done.
I hope that people with the titles of technology companies and research institutions will not use the rigorous discourse system of researchers to demand themselves when participating in public activities to express their opinions (of course, many people do not).
Don't intentionally or unintentionally expose an obvious conceptual, cognitive or logical error every two minutes, especially when describing the relevant achievements of your own technology company or research institution.
The influence of "misleading the public" is on the one hand, and it is also quite fatal to frequently question the professionalism of the company at professional meetings. I hope the former owner will cherish his feathers within a certain range, and don't give up just because there are many comments such as "liar", "bubble" and "Foxconn".
