Why should people cultivate their minds?
Any person's ups and downs, emotions, good and evil ... are determined by the heart.

People are thought-oriented and cognition-oriented. Why practice? Since we were born, due to the extension of self-consciousness, subjective thoughts have distorted all problems, phenomena and facts. If you don't practice, it will always be distorted, and the living environment is abnormal; The heart is a lost heart; Life is hard if you don't cultivate your mind.

When it comes to cultivating the mind, we must first find out "which heart is cultivated?" How many hearts do you have? There are at least two kinds of classification: Confucianism says "there is a heart with a heart", Buddhism says "the heart is the root of all evil", "the heart is a Buddha, and the heart is a Buddha". Therefore, there are two kinds of hearts.

These two kinds of hearts are not dissected, and the second kind of heart began to form when we were born. When I was a teenager, my prototype was basically completed. After I finished my studies, I entered social work, my heart was constantly strengthened and my thoughts were constantly buried. It's not true that we were born with a heart. Buddha said that "the heart is the source of all evil", "the heart is the Buddha, and the heart is the Buddha". Is it a contradiction? No, the heart that "the heart is the root of all evil" is a false heart, a human heart, and the heart that "can become a Buddha" is sincere and sincere.

How is the human heart formed? It is the self-consciousness of the seventh consciousness and the separation consciousness of the sixth consciousness. Through the collection, understanding and tolerance of the five senses, over time, a surface consciousness is formed, and a layer of dirt is covered on the surface of the original heart, which is what we often call self. Buddha said "no self", aiming at our surface consciousness, saying "this is not you, there is no you at all". If you think "this is yourself or your heart", it is absolutely incorrect.

The heart of "the heart is the Buddha, and the heart is the Buddha" is the original heart, the Mahabharata, the original state of the heart and the total phase of life. This heart is self-sufficient, self-bright, self-complete and does not need to be repaired. What is the heart that needs to be repaired? Is our surface consciousness.

The surface consciousness conceals and buries our original true, bright, complete and full heart, and it is this false heart-surface consciousness that needs to be cultivated. The ancients said that "repairing the truth by borrowing falsehood" did not mean repairing the dharma body by borrowing the body, but by borrowing our hypocritical superficial consciousness to correct, restore and discover our original sincerity.
