Chu culture is a regional culture that began in the early Spring and Autumn Period. It combines the last stream of Shang culture in the Central Plains and the remnants of Chu culture. By the middle of the Spring and Autumn Period, it had become a model of idealistic China culture in which the Central Plains kept pace with Zhou Wenhua. Hunan is one of the cradles of ancient Chu culture, and the Xiang-Chu culture bred in this land has had an important influence in the history of China. Xiang-Chu culture is the product of the combination of Xiang culture and Chu culture, and it is the inheritance and supplement of Central Plains culture. This multi-cultural integration is the most basic element of China's splendid civilization history. Xiangchu culture is mainly embodied in five aspects: philosophy, literature and art, history, education and folk customs. Xiangchu culture, like Jingchu culture and Bachu culture, belongs to an important branch of Chu culture. It is named after inheriting the main idea of Chu culture and forming in the vast and rich land of Sanxiang.
