Southwest University Library was established in July 2005. It was formed by the merger of the former Southwest Normal University Library and the former Southwest Agricultural University Library. It is the science and technology novelty retrieval workstation of the Ministry of Education, the "National Key Protection Unit of Ancient Books", the Literature Sub-center of Southwest University, a platform for sharing scientific and technological resources in Chongqing, and the popularization base of humanities and social sciences in Chongqing.

The Central Library has 15 floors above ground and 1 floor underground, and is rich in literature resources. Here, there are comfortable sofa seats, a multimedia area for entertainment and relaxation, and a novel and interesting intelligent robot called Hi Bunny to meet them. The floors above the seventh floor of the library pay more attention to special purposes. There is often a classic reading salon on the ninth floor, as well as French windows and carpets, so you can feel it.
