Shanghai Institute of Physical Education is the earliest physical education institution established after the founding of New China. Established in June 1952 1 1, formerly known as East China Institute of Physical Education. It was formed by the merger of Nanjing University, East China Normal University and Nanjing Jinling Women's University.
