Huaihua Dongsheng Middle School was founded on 20 10. It is a nine-year compulsory education school. In May 2022, the People's Government of Hecheng District of Huaihua City issued a notice to change it from a nine-year compulsory education school to a junior high school. In the autumn of 2022, the enrollment of the first grade of primary school was stopped, and the primary school as a whole was merged into Furong School in Hecheng District.
