People's Public Security University of China, located in Beijing, is an ordinary institution of higher learning directly under the Ministry of Public Security, a senior police officer college of the Ministry of Public Security and a comprehensive university in the public security industry. The People's Public Security University of China is the first public security college in the public security system to carry out general higher education and master's training, the only public security college to carry out doctoral education, and the only public security college selected as a national "double-class" construction university.

The People's Public Security University of China was established in July, 1948. Its predecessor was North China Public Security Cadre School, Central Public Security Cadre School, Central People's Public Security College and Central Political and Legal Cadre School. 1984 was transformed into a full-time ordinary college and the Chinese People's Public Security University was established.

The People's Public Security University of China covers an area of about 1.200 mu and has two campuses, namely Muxidi Campus and Tuanhe Campus. Muxidi Campus is located atNo. Li Nan 1 Muxidi, Xicheng District, Beijing, and Tuanhe Campus is located at Tuanhe Huangyi Road, Daxing District, Beijing. People's Public Security University of China has 1 1 teaching departments, 19 undergraduate majors, 4 professional degree categories and 4 first-class disciplines. The disciplines that have the right to award doctoral and master's degrees are: public security, public security technology, law, and national security. In the ranking of China University of Political Science and Law published by Soft Science in 2022, People's Public Security University of China ranked fifth.
