Qingdao, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Shandong Province, is also known as Island City and Jiaoao, a sub-provincial city, a city with separate plans, a megacity, a core city of Qingdao metropolitan area, an important coastal central city of China, a coastal resort city and an international port city approved by the State Council.
