The principle of separation of church and state established by the Education Law mainly means that all kinds of schools and other educational institutions, teachers and other educators in the field of national education should respect citizens' freedom of religious belief and should not take religious belief as one of the admission conditions; Schools and teachers have the right and obligation to educate dialectical materialism and historical materialism, and to promote atheism, but students and other educatees shall not be forced not to believe in religion.

It is even more impossible to force students or other educated people to believe in a certain religion or a certain Sect; No religious organization or individual may recruit school-age children who should receive compulsory education as lamas and monks, interfere with the education of dialectical materialism, historical materialism and natural science knowledge in schools, engage in religious activities and hold religious ceremonies in schools, or use schools to instill religious ideas and develop believers in underage students.
