Quanzhou Teachers College is located in Quanzhou, the first historical and cultural city in China and a famous hometown of overseas Chinese. It is a first-class discipline construction university in Fujian Province, the implementation institution of the excellent teacher training plan of the Ministry of Education, and the project construction unit of the 20 18-2020 master's degree awarding training unit in Fujian Province. The school, formerly known as Quanzhou University Teachers College, was founded in 1958.
1998 Quanzhou Teachers College, Quanzhou Education College and Quanzhou Teachers College merged to form a new Quanzhou Teachers College. Approved by the Ministry of Education in 2000, it was officially upgraded to Quanzhou Normal University, which is the first newly-built local provincial undergraduate university in Fujian Province.
