The Institute of International Relations, founded in 1949, is an institution of higher learning with a fine tradition.

Set up 16 professional directions, including international political theory research, international political diplomacy practice, international economy and trade, government procurement, English language and culture, English translation, applied Japanese, applied French, culture and communication, international communication of Chinese, law, data science and engineering, information security, intelligent information processing, international affairs management and foreign-related management.
The school has the right to organize education for foreign students, and has carried out educational cooperation and academic exchanges with universities in the United States, Japan, France, Denmark and other countries. The school implements the semester system of autumn, spring and Xia San, and mainly employs international teachers to teach in summer. The school encourages students to participate in international exchanges during the summer semester and summer vacation, and invests special funds to support academic practice and other activities. The school implements the credit system and tutorial system to provide students with a curriculum system that combines professional theory with professional practice, and majors and minors support each other. The school has long adhered to small class teaching and carefully cultivated, and it is one of the few national key universities that has not implemented large-scale enrollment expansion.
