The school was formerly known as Hongde Foreign Affairs Vocational College, which was established in 2004. In 2005, it was jointly run with Inner Mongolia Normal University; In March 2006, the school passed the evaluation and demonstration of the Ministry of Education and the Education Department of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region; In May 2008, it was officially approved to become Hongde College of Inner Mongolia Normal University; In April 2020, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Hongde College of Inner Mongolia Normal University was restructured into Hongde College of Science in Inner Mongolia.
