Comparison of ancient ideological and political education between China and the West?
In ancient China, the content of education was mainly ethics, while general cultural knowledge education was subordinate to the needs of moral education. Ziyi Four Religions: Wen Zhong Xing's Heart (The Analects of Confucius? Statement), behavior, loyalty and belief are all contents of moral education; "Disciples into the filial piety, filial piety. They believe deeply, love the masses, are kind, and have the spare capacity to study literature (The Analects of Confucius? Learning), filial piety, filial piety, faith, love and benevolence are also ethics. Confucian classics, such as the Four Books and Five Classics, which are the contents of China's ancient traditional education, are all based on morality. However, the educational content in ancient western countries is based on rational education (intellectual education), emphasizing the equivalence between morality and knowledge, and treating knowledge and wisdom more important than morality. Socrates believed that "virtue is knowledge", and the ancient Greek school of the wise advocated giving students grammar, rhetoric and philosophy. Plato and Aristotle advocated teaching children knowledge and skills such as reading, writing, calculating, riding and shooting from childhood, and giving them knowledge such as geometry, astronomy and philosophy when they grow up. It should be said that the content of western ancient education is relatively extensive, involving a lot of natural science knowledge, which is precisely a major defect of the content of ancient education in China. Although China ancient educators sometimes talked about knowledge teaching, it was not systematic and mainstream.
