"Unified examination" and "counterpart" cannot be submitted at the same time. Ordinary high school graduates can only choose "unified examination". Graduates of various secondary vocational schools (including vocational classes of comprehensive high schools and secondary specialized schools) and technical schools can choose "unified examination" or "counterpart", but only one type can be selected.

The counterpart entrance examination means that the state selects some majors from the enrollment plan of colleges and universities, takes out special indicators, and carries out the college entrance examination for secondary vocational students who want to continue their studies, so as to provide excellent secondary vocational students with opportunities to go to college for further study. The college entrance examination subjects include Chinese, mathematics, English and the corresponding professional basic courses.
