Han Yan, a Harvard girl, won a 20 10 scholarship from CPAC Education Foundation, but she hopes to spend more time outside her studies. Han Yan came to Canada when she was five years old. In the eighth grade, Han Yan was admitted to the University of Toronto. Up to grade 12, he ranked first for several years in a row and gave a speech as a student representative at the graduation ceremony. In 2009, Han Yan was admitted to Harvard University. That year, she won the Governor-General's Medal of Canada and the Beverly Matthews Award for Best Graduate.

Although both parents are computer majors, Han Yan doesn't want to sit in front of the computer all day. She is eager to deal with people and has been determined to be a teacher or a doctor since she was a child.

Han Yan, who is currently majoring in neurobiology at Harvard University, said that he cares too much about his academic performance and always puts pressure on himself. He was very busy in middle school. After he went to college, he took courses that other students thought were too complicated, so he was more nervous. She feels that the classmates around her seem happier, so she has been thinking about whether learning is the most important thing. If you don't choose the best school, you should have more time. If you spend most of your time studying, will you miss many wonderful things in life?

In fact, although she is nervous about studying, even her favorite paintings can only be saved for holidays to get brushes. Han Yan still spends a lot of time on extracurricular activities: she wants to organize and arrange student parties; Volunteer in the hospital regularly every week to help mothers of low-income families apply for government subsidies, find houses and baby clothes; Teach pupils to dance in primary schools and organize extracurricular activities; I started working in the library again this year. She said that it is common to get up at 6 am, 1, and go to bed at 2 am.

Han Yan said that after going to college, the hardest thing is not being with my family, because I used to tell my parents everything. Now I live independently, not only taking care of myself, but also having less spiritual dependence. Because of this, she learned a lot from her classmates. She said that Harvard has many great students, not necessarily academic ones. Many people's stories and experiences have a great influence on their lives.

Han Yan said that there is no big secret in wanting to be an excellent student. First, you must set goals. Knowing your goals will make learning easier. In order to achieve this goal, of course, efforts are needed; Then you need to be interested in learning so that you won't feel bored. She also believes that teachers' teaching methods have a great influence on themselves, so teachers should make good use of their own resources.

Talking about the future, Han Yan said that it is still uncertain. She hopes to try different departments and maybe become a brain surgeon. She is also interested in becoming MSF.
