Hunan Institute of Applied Technology is a full-time undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. The school was founded in 1994, then called Changde Computer Technology School. 1998 became a pilot institution of higher education diploma and was renamed Changde Computer College. In 2004, it was upgraded to a national unified recruitment college and renamed as Hunan Tongde Vocational College; In 20 14, it was upgraded to a national unified undergraduate college and renamed Hunan Institute of Applied Technology.
The school has two campuses, east and west, with a planned total area of 2 146.07 mu. At present, the campus covers an area of 1.200 mu, with a total construction area of 462 1.000 square meters, including 23 1.600 square meters for teaching administration and 0/.400 square meters for student dormitory.
The school has successively won more than 300 honorary titles such as "National Excellent Private Colleges and Universities", "National Advanced Collective of Private Education", "Advanced Unit of Vocational Education in Hunan Province", "Advanced Unit of Graduate Employment in Hunan Province" and "Top Ten Private Schools in Hunan Province". China Education News, People's Daily Overseas Edition, People's Daily, New Hunan, Red Net, Hunan Satellite TV, Changde TV Station, Changde Daily and other national, provincial and municipal news media have successively made special reports on the school, which is known as the "cradle of applied and innovative talents training".
