Yesterday, Xiamen Sports Bureau held a new appointment meeting for school cadres, attended by Ruan Dunliang, Party Secretary and Director of Xiamen Sports Bureau, Xiong Yuqing, head of discipline inspection and supervision team in Xiamen, and Li Lina and Du Xinfei, deputy heads. At the meeting, the president of Wei Xu Huawei Xiamen Sports School was announced.
Since the founding of New China, Xiamen Sports has trained many outstanding sports talents for the country, and a number of Olympic champions such as Ji Xinpeng, Chen Long, Lin Qingfeng and Deng Wei have emerged. Driven by role models, more and more Xiamen sports talents are active in the sports arena at home and abroad, including Ge Manqi, Junc, Huang Qibin and Jessica Yu.
The reorganization and integration of these three training units means that the training of sports talents in Xiamen will turn a new page. Xu Weihua introduced that at present, Xiamen University Sports School has 24 sports, more than 270 faculty members and 1600 athletes in training, covering three major sectors: training competition, teaching and research, and logistics support.
