Hengyang Education Bureau (hereinafter referred to as the Municipal Education Bureau) is the working department of the municipal government, at the level.

According to the Notice of the General Office of Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the General Office of Hunan Provincial People's Government on Printing and Distributing Hengyang's Institutional Reform Plan (Xiang Ban [2065438+08] No.59), the Municipal Education Bureau has implemented the principles, policies and decision-making arrangements of the CPC Central Committee on education, fully implemented the deployment requirements of the provincial party committee and the municipal party committee on education, and adhered to and strengthened the party's centralized and unified leadership over education in the process of performing its duties.

Main responsibilities:

(a) to implement the principles, policies, laws, regulations and rules of the national education work, formulate specific implementation measures and management systems in light of the situation in this Municipality, and supervise the implementation.

(two) to study and put forward the city's education reform and development strategy and education development plan, annual plan and the focus, structure, speed and steps of education development, and guide and coordinate their implementation.

(three) responsible for the city's basic education, vocational and technical education, adult education, preschool education, special education, private education management. Responsible for the coordination and service of colleges and universities in the city. According to the relevant regulations, undertake the examination and approval of the establishment, adjustment, renaming and revocation of various schools in secondary education.

(four) overall guidance of the city's minority education, coordination of education assistance to minority areas and poverty-stricken areas.

(five) responsible for promoting the balanced development of compulsory education and promoting education equity, responsible for the macro guidance and coordination of compulsory education, and guiding the work of ordinary high school education, preschool education and special education. Organize the examination and approval of local textbooks and entrust national textbooks to fully implement quality education.

(six) the overall management of the education funds of the department. In conjunction with relevant departments, formulate education budget, fund raising, education appropriation and education infrastructure investment policies and organize their implementation, and improve the education fund management system. Check and supervise the investment and use of the city's education funds. Responsible for the management of city-level education funds and foreign governments and organizations, as well as Hongkong, Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province Province to the city's education assistance and education loans. Supervise the state-owned assets of the education system.
