Therefore, if a man can get a good wife, he will be "rich" for three generations. Of course, "rich" here does not mean rich, but refers to the richness of ideas, morality and achievements.
Throughout history, people who have made achievements are mostly influenced by their mothers' thoughts. Among these mothers, the most famous is China's "Four Virtue Mothers"-Meng Mu, Taomu, Oumu and her mother-in-law. The deeds of these four great mothers are widely celebrated, affecting every Chinese son and daughter.
Meng Mu
Meng Mu ranks first among the "Four Virtue Mothers".
Her son, Mencius, was a famous thinker and educator in ancient China, second only to Confucius as a Confucian master, and was known as the "Asian sage". Her story "Three Visits to Meng Mu" is widely known.
Meng Mu lost her husband in her early years, but she was determined not to remarry, so she raised Mencius alone. At first, she and Mencius lived near her husband's grave so that they could worship him every day. Only after living in this place for a long time, the young Mencius actually learned the sad nonsense of bereavement. Meng Mu felt that such a living environment was not conducive to his son's growth, so he moved his family to the market. But after Mencius moved his family to the market, he learned to sell with businessmen and vendors. Meng Mu didn't want his son to be an ordinary person in the future, so he moved his family to school. From then on, Mencius studied with the students in the school. Meng Mu has moved three times, because she knows a truth-the environment will affect a person's growth.
And the story of Meng Mu's "Broken Loom". She taught Mencius that if he gave up his studies halfway, it would be like a piece of cloth that was half woven and could not be used. From then on, Mencius studied hard and eventually became a generation of scholars.

Tao Mu was the mother of Tao Kan in the Eastern Jin Dynasty.
Tao Kan, a great star, made great contributions to the stable and turbulent political situation in the early years of the Eastern Jin Dynasty.
The story of Tao Mu's adopted son's "breaking the banquet" and "closing the altar and returning the boat" is widely circulated.
Tao Mu also lost her husband in his early years. She makes a living by spinning linen and weaving, and subsidizes Tao Kan to study. She has been teaching children how to make friends with people who are better and more educated than herself.
On one occasion, Xiao Lian of the same county (that is, a juren) Fan Kui visited Xian in the snow and stayed at Tao Kan's house. When it was freezing, the horse had no feed, so Tao Mu took the straw mat off her bed and chopped it up for the horse. Taomu also secretly cut off his long hair and sold it to neighbors in exchange for money to buy food and drink. The concept of China people is that "parents dare not damage their bodies, and filial piety begins." Hair can't be cut easily. Tao Mu's behavior shows her sincerity in hospitality. Fan Kui was greatly moved, so he recommended that Tao Kan be awarded a doctor by the county magistrate. Since then, Tao Kan has embarked on a developed official career. This is the story of "cutting off the feast".
Tao Mu also has a widely circulated story: "Closing the altar and returning the fish".
Tao Kan used to be a county magistrate in Haiyang, Zhejiang Province, supervising the fishing industry, and often had subordinates give him things. Once, a subordinate sent a jar of fish (pickled fish) to Tao Kan. He immediately thought of his loving mother who had lived in poverty all her life in the countryside and asked her fellow villagers to bring it to his mother. Who knows, my mother returned the fish and fish intact, and wrote in the letter: "I am an official, leaving me the official things will not only help me, but will increase my troubles." Tao Kan felt very shocked and guilty when she received her mother's letter. He made up his mind to follow his mother's instruction all his life-to be an innocent and upright person.
Later generations praised "if the mother of the world has the ability to teach her children, why does the country suffer from lack of talent?" And ignore the use of evil in the world? "
Oumu
Ou Mu was the mother of Ouyang Xiu in the Northern Song Dynasty.
Ouyang Xiu was an outstanding politician, writer and historian in the Northern Song Dynasty, and his achievements could not be separated from his mother's vigorous education.
Ou Mu is also a single mother. Her husband died when his son was four years old. When her husband was alive, his family was fairly well off, but since his death, his family has plummeted. Later, it actually reached the point where there was no room and no ridge on the ground.
Ou Mu's family is ambitious. She raised her son by her own hard work and taught Ouyang Xiu to read in the most primitive way. This is the famous "painting godson". When Ouyang Xiu was five years old, Ou Mu taught him how to read and write and how to be a man. Only at that time, the family was poor and had no money to buy pens, ink, paper and inkstones, so Oumu had to use reed poles instead. She spread some sand on the floor, used the floor as paper and taught Ouyang Xiu to write one by one.
Ouyang Xiu is very sensible under the careful guidance of his mother. He achieved excellent academic results and entered high school in the eighth year of Renzong Tiansheng (AD 1030).
In his official career, Ouyang Xiu actively supported Fan Zhongyan in upholding the new law and was later demoted. But instead of complaining, Ou Mu comforted his son and said, "You were demoted for justice, and you can't say you are ashamed. Our family is used to living in poverty. As long as you have no burden in your heart and keep your spirits up, I will be happy. " With such a mother, how can a son not be great?
Yuemu
Mother-in-law is the mother of Yue Fei, a famous Northern Song Dynasty star.
When Yue Fei was 15 or 16 years old, the Jin people invaded the south, the authorities in the Song Dynasty were corrupt and incompetent, and the country was at a critical juncture. Many mothers want to keep their children's blood in wartime, but their mother-in-law joined the army without hesitation and served the country faithfully. In order to let her son always remember that a gentleman should "serve the country faithfully", she stabbed these four words on his back with an embroidery needle!
After joining the army, Yue Fei fought bravely to kill the enemy, without hesitation, and repeatedly made meritorious military service, and was promoted to Bing Yilang. On one occasion, Kaifeng, the capital of the Song Dynasty, was besieged by the Jin army. Yue Fei and Deputy Marshal Zong Ze went to the rescue and defeated the 8 Jin Army. Therefore, he was appreciated by Zong Ze and praised him for his "wisdom and talent, which were beyond the reach of ancient generals".
Later, Yue Fei became a famous anti-gold hero and was admired by people of all ages.
This is the "four virtuous mothers" in ancient China. The story of their godson fully illustrates the importance and greatness of maternal education.
Mother is the earliest teacher and lifelong teacher of children.
Every mother's decision is enough to affect her child's life. Let them from now on, no matter what kind of difficulties they encounter, they will not complain or be discouraged, but face them with a positive attitude and try their best to do everything well!
