Admission right without examination

According to Article 12 of the Compulsory Education Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), school-age children and adolescents have the right to enter school without examination, and local governments at all levels also need to ensure that they can enter the school where their household registration is located nearby. Even if parents or other legal guardians work or live in non-registered places, school-age children and adolescents have the right to receive compulsory education in their work or residence.

Equal rights protection

Article 37 of the Education Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates that educated people shall enjoy equal rights of admission, further studies and employment according to law. Schools and relevant administrative departments should ensure that women enjoy equal rights with men in enrollment, further studies, employment, conferring degrees and studying abroad.

Fund guarantee mechanism

Article 38 also emphasizes that the state and society should provide various forms of financial assistance to children, adolescents and young people who meet the requirements for admission but have financial difficulties in their families, so as to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to receive education.
