Beihai Campus of Guilin University of Electronic Technology was established in 2008, directly under Guilin University of Electronic Technology. It is a campus established by Guilin University of Electronic Technology in Beihai, Guangxi. It is the only public university in Beihai that holds master's, undergraduate and junior college training levels. Headquarters co-ordinate enrollment and issue graduation certificates from headquarters.
Guilin University of Electronic Technology was founded in 1960. It was jointly established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and Guangxi, and was selected as the first batch of scientific and technological achievements transformation and technology transfer bases in colleges and universities, the selection and training base for reserve officers of the People's Liberation Army in China, the first-class discipline construction universities in Guangxi and the key construction universities in Guangxi.
Scale of running a school
Since the establishment of Beihai Campus, with the strong support of the Education Department of the Autonomous Region, the Beihai Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, the administration of the Party Committee of the school and friends from all walks of life, all leading cadres and faculty members of Beihai Campus have continuously carried forward the fine tradition of "hard work and self-reliance" of Guidian and built two campuses with complete functions and beautiful environment. The scale of running a school has grown from less than 1000 to 10000.
By September 20 18, Beihai Campus had more than 5900 students/kloc-0, more than 600 faculty members, 969 mu of campus land, 500 mu of reserved land, and a construction area of nearly 300,000 square meters. There are 1 authorized points for professional degrees and master's degrees, 10 for undergraduate majors and 33 for higher vocational majors, which are concentrated in the fields of machinery, electronics, computers, design, management and foreign trade.
