Yoshino education
In the Sino-Japanese War, Beiyang Navy was defeated. Deng Shichang, the navy general at that time, sailed Zhiyuan into Yoshino, Japan, and died heroically. Emperor Guangxu wrote a poem in memory of him. "This day is full of tears and has a strong naval force."

At that time, Zhiyuan had not run out of ammunition and food. Why did Deng Shichang insist on driving it into Yoshino? Now 126 years have passed, and experts have salvaged the fragments of Zhiyuan from the sea, revealing the truth that it has been buried for a hundred years.

Loyal and patriotic, willing to enter the driving class.

From 65438 to 0849, Deng Shichang was born in a family of tea merchants in Panyu, Guangdong. His father, Deng Huanzhuang, is a famous tea merchant. He named his son Deng Yongchang because he hoped that the tea business would be prosperous forever. However, at that time, China and abroad. Deng Huanzhuang thinks that only when the country is peaceful and the world is prosperous will his tea business prosper. Later, he renamed his children "Deng Shichang", pinning the hope of rejuvenating the country.

As a patriotic businessman, Deng Huanzhuang taught his son to learn a skill and serve the country from an early age. When I was a child, I sent Deng Shichang to school. As an enlightened businessman, influenced by the idea of "learning from foreigners to control foreigners", Deng Huanzhuang sent his son to learn English.

Later, their family moved to Shanghai, and Deng Shichang was sent to a local missionary school to learn western knowledge. Deng Shichang was smart and studious since childhood, and his understanding was extremely high.

After learning a lot of western knowledge and skills, Deng Shichang became more and more aware of the problems existing in China at that time. He is loyal and patriotic, and he is bent on changing the status quo of the country with his own strength. 1867, Shen Baozhen, Minister of Maritime Affairs of Fuzhou, opened the Naval Academy to recruit specialized students to learn navigation techniques, but only for Fuzhou natives. Although Deng Shichang yearned for it, he had no choice but to give up.

Later, the school enrolled a group of Cantonese people around the age of 20. Deng Shichang got strong support after telling his father what he wanted to enroll in.

After the exam, Deng Shichang entered the driving class as he wished. Here, in addition to the actual driving operation, we must learn English, mathematics, geography and navigation related knowledge. Because of his ideals, Deng Shichang studied hard. Among many students, he has the best theoretical knowledge, calm personality and superb driving skills.

Five years later, Deng Shichang graduated smoothly and became a naval reserve of the Qing army. In a battle against pirates, Deng Shichang made great contributions, won the appreciation of Shen Baozhen, and was appointed as the first mate of a transport ship.

After ten years' hard work, I have grinded out a sword. The edge of the sword flashes in cold light, but I haven't tried its sharpness. Deng Shichang has developed a skill, only to be put to good use.

The bitter battle of the Yellow Sea

1894, Sino-Japanese War. In September, the Japanese fleet launched an attack in the Yellow Sea of China. When the Qing fleet got the news, it sent well-trained beiyang fleet to stop the Japanese army. This is the Yellow Sea naval battle in the Sino-Japanese War.

Before the war, many officers and generals wrote their last poem and went to sea with the determination to live and die with the fleet. The Japanese army came prepared and had a lot of firepower. Although China's fleet spent a lot of materials on naval construction, the Qing government was corrupt at that time and most of the money was embezzled by officials, so the naval equipment was not advanced enough.

The soldiers have not experienced strict training, formal naval battles and lack of experience. There are too few brave and resourceful people in the navy like Deng Shichang.

At the beginning of the war, the captains of three warships in China got up their morale and prepared for a big fight. But not long after, the command ship was hit hard, and the fleet was leaderless and chaotic. Deng Shichang made a decisive decision and raised the battle flag on the "Zhiyuan" he was driving, becoming the leader of the ship. When the Japanese saw it, they began to aim the cannon at the Zhiyuan ship.

The Zhiyuan ship led by Deng Shichang fought bravely in all the fleets and kept firing at the Japanese. But many warships behind Zhiyuan were defeated by the Japanese. Deng Shichang's "Zhiyuan" was outnumbered and injured several times.

Several warships of the Qing navy were destroyed and several Japanese ships were injured, but most of them were still intact. At this time, China's ambition has been seriously frustrated, and it is too difficult for Deng Shichang to fight a turnaround on its own.

Things are getting worse and worse, and Deng Shichang is still figuring out how to deal a heavy blow to the Japanese fleet. He thought that before boarding the ship, he had written a farewell letter and trained for many years. It is for this moment that he killed the enemy for his country, and his life is not precious. It is enough to be able to fight the opposing fleet.

Now, it's worth fighting with the Japanese for a larger foe. Standing at the bow of Zhiyuan Ship, he said to more than 200 officers and men of the whole ship: "As a member of beiyang fleet, standing on the ship, the mission is to protect the country and defend the country, regardless of life and death. The situation is critical now, and there is no way to return to heaven. We can only decide by death! " Say that finish, Deng Shichang pointed to the domineering Yoshino, vowed to lose its momentum. The soldiers were United and shouted, "I am willing to live and die with the chief!" " "

With that, Deng Shichang resolutely accelerated the "Zhiyuan" and crashed into Japanese Yoshino, trying to mutually assured destruction. Deng Shichang's behavior caught the Japanese off guard, and the Japanese who had not yet understood the situation quickly opened fire on Zhiyuan Ship.

Unfortunately, Zhiyuan was hit by a Japanese torpedo during the attack, and then a tragic scene happened: Zhiyuan exploded, and this heroic warship sank to the bottom of the Yellow Sea forever before completing its mission.

More than 200 officers on board were all submerged in the rolling waves of the Yellow Sea, which was terrible and terrible.

A hundred years later, the truth of hitting Yoshino came out.

After falling into the sea, the entourage tried to rescue Deng Shichang, who was struggling in the water, but was rejected. He is determined to serve his country, but now he can't resist the invasion of Japanese ships. It is better to die in the sea than to live on the shore.

At the critical moment, Deng Shichang's dog swam to him and tried his best to pull his master ashore. Deng Shichang made up his mind to hold the dog and sink into the water.

Why did Deng Shichang lead Zhiyuan into Yoshino? At that time, "Zhiyuan" had not run out of ammunition, and there was still room for survival after playing for a while or so. Is there any other reason besides serving the country wholeheartedly and not afraid of death?

After the Yellow Sea Battle 100 years, some people salvaged the sunken Zhiyuan ship fragments in the Yellow Sea. After analysis by experts, it was found that there was a torpedo on board at that time, which opened the reason why Deng Shichang was desperate to hit forward.

In fact, Deng Shichang intends to bomb Japanese Yoshino with this torpedo. But at that time, the technology was backward, and the torpedo had a short range and could only shoot at close range. So, Deng Shichang prepared to approach the ship and give the Japanese a heavy blow. Unexpectedly, I encountered misfortune halfway.

The great Deng Shichang's wish of mutual destruction with Yoshino has not come true, but his act of dying for his country will be remembered forever. 1904, Yoshino was hit by a friendly ship in the Russo-Japanese War, which may be an act of God.
