The school has fully implemented the party's educational policy, actively carried out educational research, strived to promote quality education, and comprehensively improved the quality of education and teaching, and achieved remarkable results. Education and scientific research began with 1984' s "three calculations in one", and now it has blossomed in many places. It has gone through four courses: exploration, deepening development, overall reform and forming characteristics. The school has undertaken more than ten provincial, municipal and district-level scientific research projects, all of which have been completed. Among them, there are 2 provincial scientific research achievement awards and 5 municipal scientific research achievement awards. Among the experimental teachers, 10 was rated as national, 13 as advanced individuals in Hunan province, and more than 200 experimental papers or reports were awarded or published at provincial and municipal levels. In view of the outstanding achievements in teaching and research reform, in 2002, the school was identified as "Hunan Basic Education Teaching and Research Demonstration School". In the autumn of 2002, Beihu District of Chenzhou City, Hunan Province was designated as the experimental area of national basic education curriculum reform, and Sanwan Primary School of Chenzhou City was designated as the key school of curriculum reform experiment.
