When we worship and count Lohan, we must learn from Lohan, hear about Buddhism, and correct our wrong thoughts, words and behaviors, so that we can get happiness from suffering, be clean in body and mind, and live a happy life. ?

Why do you worship the four heavenly kings? ?

When you walk into the gate of the Buddhist temple, the first building you see is called Tianwangtang. Four heavenly kings and Maitreya Bodhisattva are enshrined in the Temple of the King of Heaven. The Four Heavenly Kings are the guardians, protecting this Dojo. Do you know what it really means?

Like a string, if you are too tight, it will break; If it's too loose, it won't play. It must be adjusted. In other words, we should keep proper limit to people and things, and do it just right. That's what it means!

Second, the growth king of the South. "Growth" means seeking progress in modern terms; Keep pace with the times. If you don't advance, you will retreat. Confucian teaching theory is new, new and always seeking progress; Buddhism talks about diligence, not only progress, but also cleanliness. At this time, we get happiness from suffering; It is such a meaning that you can not only enjoy suffering, but also help the whole society and all people get rid of suffering. You can't make mistakes. It must be known that asceticism is a stage, not a permanent one.

The growing king holds a sword. This sword also represents Buddhism and the sword of wisdom, which can get rid of troubles. Trouble is like silk and chaos, so cut the gordian knot quickly. Only wisdom can solve all complicated things, that's what it means. ? Three, the king of the west, four, the king of the north. The first two are our learning goals. We should be responsible and have a new look. So how can we do it? These two heavenly kings taught us to watch and listen more, as the saying goes, "Read thousands of books and take the Wan Li Road". Wisdom comes from here! To read books, read Buddhist scriptures; We should visit and inspect everywhere, just like sightseeing and inspection now. What is "light"? Just the customs and habits of that place, the living habits of that place. We can learn from others' strengths by looking and understanding. People's defects, reflect on whether we have them. We can learn from the strengths of others and build our country and society. Isn't this the best country and society in the world? Why burn incense? ? "Incense" stands for abstinence and determination, and burning incense is to remind us to practice abstinence and determination to show our wisdom. From discipline to determination, from determination to wisdom. Learning precepts means obeying the law and practicing ten good deeds. The ten virtues include: first, no killing, second, no stealing, third, no lewdness, fourth, no swearing, fifth, no nonsense, seventh, eighth, no greed, ninth, no anger, and tenth, no stupidity. Or ten good things. Now, these ten good things will be summarized as follows: 1. Kindness without killing-killing is killing, and life is life. If you don't kill, you don't kill. That is, all beings are equal and cannot kill. Because Buddhism advocates the equality of Buddha's nature and compassion to help the world, Buddhism respects the doctrine of equality and compassion, and calls for helping all beings who have been killed, indicating that all beings have Buddha's nature, so they cannot be killed. Mencius once said: "I can't bear to eat its meat when I hear its voice." He doesn't talk about Buddha's nature, but out of kindness, he has pity on all beings who have been killed. From this point of view, if we can be kind to human beings and not kill living things, the life world can be the best, and things of struggle and hatred can be eliminated. Isn't the world peaceful? Second, don't steal or save money-stealing is cheating and stealing, and stealing is robbing and robbing. Not stealing other people's property is called not stealing. Because everything, the transfer of sovereignty, must be in accordance with justice, not desirable, can not be taken separately, can not be taken for nothing, are theft. Being able to be born with desire is called "benefit", which is beneficial to ceremony and is called "righteousness". Knowing self-interest and benefiting others means self-interest and altruism, which is called "righteousness and benefit". Everyone is honest, frugal, supports parents, maintains family life, enjoys family happiness, and treats friends' money carefully, so there will be no theft, social peace and personal and family happiness. Third, don't commit adultery-that is, couples who are formally married are not allowed to commit adultery. Adultery without your wife is called lewdness. Being able to correct the desire between men and women is called not adultery, that is, keeping chastity and propriety. That is to say, after forming a family, the husband and wife should regard the guest as the respect, and they can live in harmony and become a happy family without other behaviors. ? Fourth, don't lie, be honest-you should fool people, cheat people with words, like lying, say no, don't say yes, it's called lying. If you don't lie, you tell the truth, and don't say anything false or deceptive. If we can stay away from lies, we can be honest with each other, and parents, brothers, relatives, friends and personnel can trust each other in contact. This is the real way to be happy.

Five, don't dispute two tongues-don't dispute two tongues means don't gossip, don't alienate others' feelings. If people don't practice oral trade, they will often suffer from two tongue diseases: the so-called disease comes from the mouth, and the disaster comes from the mouth. The disaster of two tongues will lead to windless, right and wrong, disturbing the body and mind, and even hurting people by force. It is really the culprit of killing people without seeing blood. If you can stay away from your tongue and speak honestly, is there a dispute between right and wrong? 6. Don't be mean, speak kindly-don't be mean, that is, don't say rude words that slander and insult others, and don't curse others. Ordinary people are often cursed with a bad mouth, which harms their parents and ancestors for three generations. It is a big bad mouth. As the saying goes, "those who speak ill of each other are rewarded by animals." Therefore, if you don't hate your mouth and speak kindly, you can accumulate virtue and become good, and you will be respected. 7. Don't be polite when you speak-the so-called yee language means rhetoric, frivolous rudeness, indecent words, which lead people to all kinds of evil thoughts, or ridicule, talk nonsense and think about fun, all of which are called yee language. People who speak this language are not only useless to themselves, but also harmful to others, where the karma lies, falling into evil ways when they die, being born as human beings and being despised forever. So if you want to say serious words that are in line with etiquette and unreasonable, that's called swearing. If you can stay away from English, you will be confident, polite and dignified, and you will be respected. Eight, don't be insatiable, be kind-hearted-you refuse to give your own property to others, which is called "jealousy", and others' property, but it wants to be mine, which is called "greed". An insatiable person pursues the five desires of wealth, sex, fame, food and sleep, and will create all kinds of crimes without stopping. So they should stay away from greed, don't be stingy with their own property, and don't covet other people's property. They should use the money they earn to support their parents, educate their children and support their families. But there must be no greed. Buddha said, "There are many industries that are greedy, but few industries that are taken. Everything is distressing except a moment of greed. " Life suffers from greed, which violates the law and discipline and harms other people's society. Buddhism is to persuade people to be kind, to give up, and to cure greed. Nine, don't complain about the kindness of others and bear the blessings-complaining about others is an accident, burying hatred in your heart and being angry in the form. Even losing your temper can lead to death. Most people say "set fire to Kutokuhayashi", which means that no matter how many good deeds a person has done, he will be angry with others, even use force, and all kinds of misfortunes will happen, so the good deeds he has done will be burned to ashes. Therefore, we should have compassion and tolerance for grievances, that is, the so-called "there is a knife above the word of forbearance, and if people can't bear it, they will recruit themselves. The knife can endure for a while, and patience after the home front is high." Therefore, it is a great cause of self-interest and altruism to cultivate the virtue of compassion and humiliation frequently in order to stay away from resentment.

Master Yin Guangda said: "People are not good together, but they harm themselves; It is annoying when it is light, and it hurts the liver when it is heavy. If the heart is always full of vitality, then the disease will be eliminated and the life span will be enhanced. "The meaning of (positive) treatment" X. Don't be stupid, but learn more-ignorance means ignorance, ignorance, no wisdom, ignorance of things, inability to distinguish right from wrong, unbelief in cause and effect, stubbornness in Jaken, lack of right and wrong, and run amok. If you can accept the Buddha's education and improve your wisdom, you can introduce positive opinions and be a reasonable and kind person. According to Buddhist scriptures, it is not stupid to practice Prajna wisdom to cure stupidity and keep your order away from Jaken. Meditation is to cultivate a stable, clean, peaceful and calm state of mind by chanting Buddha, chanting scriptures, holding spells, sitting quietly, or participating in meditation. Honor and disgrace, take it easy; Gain and loss follow fate, neither arrogant nor impetuous, neither humble nor supercilious; Don't panic when things happen, don't mess; Take your time and stay calm. A peaceful mind leads to wisdom, so as to properly solve all kinds of problems, puzzles and troubles in life, get out of the trough, get out of the predicament and get pleasure from suffering. The so-called general demeanor, if the command is determined. Therefore, this mentality is beneficial to modern life and necessary for our study, work and life. Therefore, we should cultivate discipline, determination and wisdom. Why did you ring the bell? ? Buddhism, Buddhism and chimes are used to pray for longevity, influence and overturn all beings. A Buddha clock is engraved with the inscription: "When the bell rings, the troubles fade, the wisdom grows, and Bodhi is born. Leave hell, leave the fire kang, and wish to become a Buddha and spend time with all beings. "Most of the bells in Buddhist temples ring once in the morning and evening, with 18, 18 and 18, and so on, twice, a total of 108. Why is it set at 108? It is said that a year has 65438+February, 24 solar terms and 72 days (five days is a waiting period), which is 108, symbolizing a year's reincarnation and everlasting. On the other hand, people have 108 kinds of troubles, and the bell rings 108 to eliminate people's troubles. Only when the bell is deep, loud and long can it shake people's hearts. A heavy clock has low fundamental frequency and large energy storage, which makes the clock deep and long. Bronze clocks with tin are more brittle than brass and iron clocks. The lower part of the bell and the bell lip are thickened and flared, which makes the sound radiation strong and makes the bell loud. Therefore, the chimes of most infectious Buddhist chimes are bronze chimes with heavy weight and thick lips. When you ring the bell, don't forget to listen to it: "When the bell rings, the troubles are light, the wisdom is long, Bodhi is born, out of hell, out of the fire kang, willing to become a Buddha and spend all beings." "It's so warm-hearted, financially and intellectually, and the merits are boundless.

Willingness means asking those who are blessed by God to fulfill their promises to God. It is what you are willing to pay to thank after your wish comes true. The best way to make a wish is to be kind, say good words, do good deeds and be a good person. If you wish to choose an auspicious day, you can't just wish for it. At all times and all over the world, wishing for auspicious days is based on the movement law of the sun, the moon and the stars, with heavenly stems and earthly branches as the content of recording the day and Yin-Yang and the five elements as the basic theory. It is formulated by taking things as the classics and taking God as the latitude. If you choose to wish the ecliptic a good day, you should take God as the purpose, put things first, and choose according to the order of things. Attachment: the rules of burning incense? First, there are many doors in the temple building, and there are exquisite doors to enter. It is said that only temples with lights are qualified to build thirteen gates. The three doors in the middle are for people to enter and leave. Ordinary tourists can only enter through the right door, and the middle door is called an empty door, and only monks can enter and leave. When entering the door, the male guest takes his left foot first, and the female guest takes his right foot first. The bigger the step, the better. At the same time, entering the temple should follow the principle that the left door enters and the right door exits. Note: you must not step on the threshold (it is said that the threshold represents the Buddha's shoulder, and of course you must not step on it). And the salute to 1 and the sixth step means wholeheartedly and smoothly. Second, the principle of worshipping Buddha Before worshipping Buddha, you must clean your hands (wash). Incense should be called "please" instead of "buy". Ordinary people should hold incense in their left hand (it is said that their right hand is unclean, and most people kill with their right hand), the third wick prayed for themselves, the sixth wick prayed for two generations, and the ninth wick prayed for three generations. Thirteen is an extreme, and thirteen wick incense is a high fragrance of complete merit. Burn incense before kowtowing. If you burn incense, hold the incense in your left hand and the candle in your right. When burning incense, light the incense with your own fire first. The more prosperous the better, people often say that incense is strong. Left hand on the top, right hand holding incense on the bottom, bow your head. After bowing, put the incense in the incense ashes and you can kowtow at the door. If you kowtow, you should find Buddha, Bodhisattva or Lohan. For example, you can't kowtow to Tibetan Bodhisattva. It is advisable to burn three sticks of incense, which means "abstinence, determination and wisdom" without omission; It also means to support Buddhism, Buddhism and monks to live in the three treasures. Wrap the items to be lit with red paper or red kits and paper with the name of the blessed person and the Chinese character Geng written on it (it is not necessary to write the Chinese character Geng), hand in a blessing (preferably related to the number 369) and ask the master to help light it. The process of opening the light is to put all the opened objects on a tray in front of the Buddha, and the master recites a few verses as if the Buddha's light shines. Your object is endowed with aura and mana, and you can take it with you to bless you. Third, the principle of incense 1. Light incense with your own fire; 2. The method of meditation should be the same as when burning incense. Burning incense is for support, and burning sandalwood is the best! 4. Precautions for burning incense: There are many bodhisattvas in the temple. You can worship them one by one if you like. If time doesn't allow, it will be burned in front of the Ursa Major Hall. The steps are as follows: 1. Invited incense, others can't pay. 2. It is best to burn incense with your own fire (three is enough, no need to burn a lot), facing the main hall door; Holding three Qing Xiang lightly in both hands (the man's left hand is above, the right hand is below, and the woman is in the other hand), suddenly mentioning it, the burning fire immediately went out. Never blow it out with your mouth. 3. When burning incense, burn incense first and then worship. Three sticks of incense is enough. You can worship in the stove. You can bow three times when you pass each Buddhist temple. Buddhism doesn't take it seriously at all. The most important thing is whether you are clean and self-centered. ? 4. Hold the incense to your forehead, close your eyes and make a wish, and then worship three times. (The height of incense cannot be lower than the lower body) 5. Turn right and face east (usually the main hall door faces south). The third step is to make a wish and worship three times; Then face south and face north. After the worship, you can insert the incense into the incense burner. Note: burn incense with your left hand, because the right hand kills people, and the left hand should be relatively peaceful. Burn three incense, one for Buddha, one for dharma and one for monk; In the middle of the cushion in the temple, it is for family members to worship Buddha. In the family, men bow their heads with the left one and women with the right one. When entering the temple gate, it is best to carry the hat and walking stick by yourself or put it in his room, and never put it on the Buddha case or the Buddha table. Try not to walk in the middle. Walk along the edge of the stairs. Men are left and women are right. Try not to walk through the main entrance, because the night abbot's door comes from the main entrance, while the novice monk comes from the side entrance. Therefore, in order to be consistent with the temple, everyone tries to enter from the side entrance, men are left and women are right. When entering, try to cross his right foot. When going out, go out from the side entrance, and don't step on the threshold (generally, the threshold of the temple is very high). Never step on the threshold when you enter the temple gate. 9. Be pious, be honest and keep your hands clean. Don't make a loud noise and say irrelevant "nagging" in the temple. Don't point your finger at the Buddha statue. Don't talk loudly and say disrespectful things. More importantly, you can't make a wish casually, because you must keep it; If you are not sure, don't make a wish. Don't ask for wealth, Buddha didn't bless you to get rich. You can seek peace and health. Don't just promise to give the Buddha something to support and then forget it. Buddha does not dispute your fragrance. This statement tells us not to make promises at will. The so-called life must be carried out as promised. It should be these lies that annoy the Buddha. 10, walk clockwise in the temple to worship Buddha, don't cross the futon, because it will give people a sense of solemnity. Don't walk in front of someone when he is praying. 1 1. Go to the Taoist temple and make a wish, just to realize your wish. Come back after a year's wish has come true. Just go in and ask someone.
