Times Higher Education announced the ranking of Asian universities in 2020, with Tsinghua University and Peking University ranking first and second respectively. In 2020, 489 universities in 30 countries and regions in Asia entered the rankings. There are 865,438+0 universities in Chinese mainland, among which 23 universities rank among the top 65,438+000 universities in Asia.

Compared with 20 19, nine more universities in Chinese mainland have obtained the ranking qualification, with a total number of participants of 8 1, a record high. In this ranking of Asian universities, three universities in Chinese mainland rank before 10, and 13 university ranks among the top 50 (inclusive).

Last year, Tsinghua University won the first place in Chinese mainland universities for the first time, and remained the first place for two consecutive years.

Peking University rose from 5th place to 2nd place, and the University of Science and Technology of China ranked 10 (tied with Sungkyunkwan University), which showed Chinese mainland's growing strength in higher education.

In addition to Dark Horse University of Science and Technology, the ranking of the top ten universities in Chinese mainland in 2020 will be the same as last year or even higher. Zhejiang University rose from last year's 14 to 13, and Shanghai Jiaotong University advanced five places to the top 20 (19) on the basis of last year's ranking (24th).

Other excellent universities include: Huazhong University of Science and Technology rose from 47th to 34th, and advanced 13; Central South University rose from 85th place to 54th place, advancing by 3 1 place; Hunan University rose from 97th to 73rd, up by 24 places. Shenzhen University rose fromNo. 1 13 to No.88, ranking 100 before rushing in.

Overall, 35 universities in Chinese mainland have made further progress in the ranking in 2020.
