College education before 1999 is subject education, and graduates are assigned. After 1999, except for normal colleges, medical colleges and public security colleges, all others are higher vocational colleges.
As a new educational model, higher vocational education pays more attention to the cultivation of application ability, which is a reasonable adjustment for education to actively adapt to the market. It is closer to the talent market than traditional subject education, and graduates are not included in the distribution.
According to the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education, full-time colleges and universities in normal, medical and public security specialties are standardized with the suffix "specialist", while full-time colleges and universities in non-normal, non-medical and non-public security specialties are gradually standardized with the suffix "vocational and technical college" or "vocational college".
