The relationship between English teaching and learning in primary schools under the new curriculum reform
Connecting primary school and junior high school English from teaching to learning Abstract: With the implementation of the policy of "China will gradually open primary school English nationwide from 200 1" promulgated by the Ministry of Education, English courses have been offered in primary schools from urban to rural areas. However, the survey found that the quality of English teaching in primary schools is uneven, and there are serious problems in the connection between English teaching in primary schools and English teaching in junior high schools. Based on the national conditions of English teaching in primary schools in China, this paper discusses how to make a good connection between primary school and junior high school English from two aspects: teaching and learning. Keywords: primary school English; Junior Middle School English: Cohesion With the implementation of the policy of "China will gradually open primary school English nationwide from 200 1" promulgated by the Ministry of Education, English classes have been offered in large and medium-sized cities across the country, including rural areas, and English teaching for teenagers engaged by social forces has also shown a rapid development trend. However, due to many reasons, the quality of English teaching in primary schools is still unsatisfactory, and the connection between English teaching in primary schools and junior high schools is becoming more and more prominent. This paper analyzes some measures for connecting English teaching between primary school and junior high school from two aspects of teaching and learning. I. Teachers' Teaching The main channel for students to learn English is the classroom. The main factors affecting classroom teaching are teaching materials, teachers and students. Among them, the teacher factor is one of the most important factors affecting classroom teaching, and the key lies in the teacher's handling of teaching materials, the application of teaching methods and the mobilization of students' learning enthusiasm. First of all, teachers should thoroughly study the English syllabus and English textbooks of primary and junior high schools, adopt appropriate teaching methods, and make a good connection between primary and junior high school English teaching. Secondly, teachers should study the characteristics of students. Senior one students are in the fastest period of physical and mental development, their self-awareness is constantly enhanced, and their autonomous learning ability is also improving. Therefore, how junior high school teachers' teaching methods adapt to students' physical and mental development will directly affect the classroom teaching effect. In addition, the first-grade teachers should also collect the feedback information of English teaching in primary schools. Before taking over this class of students, they should try to attend classes in primary schools, strengthen communication with primary school teachers, and fully understand the English level of new students. On this basis, combined with the teaching requirements of junior high school, prepare lessons carefully to ensure the quality of classroom teaching. To sum up, junior high school English classroom teaching has the following points that should attract the attention of junior high school teachers. 1. According to the different starting points of students, the starting point of teaching should be set according to the English level of primary school freshmen, so that most students can reach it. You can't set it too low, otherwise you can't stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning, and you can't improve it blindly. In primary school, we should teach in different classes according to students' English level, and different classes adopt different teaching starting points and teaching abilities. 2. Adopt appropriate classroom teaching mode. The English teaching mode in primary schools basically implements the teaching mode of "taking students as the main body, taking the main body as the clue and taking activities as the center". Each class has a practical theme, and students carry out various forms of practical activities around the theme. The classroom atmosphere is active, which can fully arouse students' interest and enthusiasm in learning. After entering junior high school, due to the pressure of entrance examination, teachers pay more attention to the examination. Teachers talk too much in class and students are not active; Do more homework and less oral practice; The classroom atmosphere is dull. Over time, students lose their enthusiasm for participating in classroom activities. This kind of classroom teaching seems to be very substantial, but in fact, students really have little knowledge. Therefore, when choosing the classroom teaching mode, the first-year teachers should attach importance to the students' dominant position, try their best to maintain the style of primary school English teaching, pay attention to students' activities, activate teaching materials and biochemistry classes, gradually increase the intensity of exam-oriented teaching, and complete the smooth transition from primary school English teaching to junior high school English teaching. 3. Establishing a harmonious relationship between teachers and students is the premise of doing a good job in classroom teaching. To do a good job in teacher-student relationship, teachers should: (1) respect students' personality, put themselves on an equal footing with students and be their friends. Because of the enhancement of self-awareness, junior one students show stronger self-esteem. Therefore, if teachers criticize students who have made mistakes with contemptuous eyes or language, students will feel depressed and depressed, thus reducing their enthusiasm for learning. (2) Pay attention to each student's personality and teach students in accordance with their aptitude. From primary school to junior high school, students grow in age and strengthen their personality. Different personalities have different learning methods and characteristics. Therefore, teachers should fully consider students' personality characteristics when organizing classroom teaching. Outgoing students can arrange more performance-oriented learning activities, while introverted students should try to avoid unprepared answers. Students with different personalities should also adopt different ways of criticism and praise, so that each student can study happily and efficiently in class. Second, students' learning Although the goals of English courses in primary and secondary schools are the same, the requirements and levels of teaching are different. Primary school English focuses on listening, speaking, reading, writing, singing and playing games, laying a good foundation for pronunciation and writing, and gaining some perceptual knowledge of learning English, thus laying a preliminary foundation for further language learning. Middle schools master the basic knowledge of English through listening, speaking, reading and writing training, and cultivate the ability to communicate in English initially. It can be seen that English in primary and secondary schools should be focused on each other, interrelated and connected with each other. When primary school students enter junior high school, teachers' teaching methods are different, and students' learning methods also need teachers' guidance and adjustment. Teachers should strengthen the research on students' learning motivation and learning strategies while doing a good job in traditional learning guidance. The guidance of learning methods for freshmen includes the following aspects: 1. Guide students to master the correct learning methods (including previewing, attending classes, doing homework, reviewing, etc.). ) (1) preview. Preview is the first step to improve the efficiency of listening to lectures and achieve good learning results. Preview is usually carried out on the first day of accepting new knowledge, including reading new lessons, answering related questions, getting familiar with new words, finding out difficulties and marking them, listening to tapes, imitating reading, etc. Teachers should assign preview tasks to help students develop preview habits and effectively improve classroom learning efficiency. (2) attending classes. Textbook knowledge is mainly passed on to students through teachers in class. Therefore, the efficiency of students' classes has become an important factor for students to learn English well. Teachers should guide students to keep up with all aspects of teaching,
