The difference between periodontitis and gingivitis
Periodontitis and gingivitis are different in treatment cost, prone age and dental film performance.

Treatment cost: Generally, the treatment of gingivitis only needs regular cleaning and publicity and education, and the annual cost is several hundred yuan. Periodontitis, on the other hand, requires complicated curettage and even surgery, and the cost ranges from several thousand.

Clinical examination: Patients with gingivitis are usually young and have no obvious attachment loss in clinical examination, while patients with periodontitis are usually older and have obvious attachment loss in clinical examination:

Dental film performance: the alveolar bone absorption of gingivitis in dental panoramic film is not obvious, and the alveolar ridge is generally within 2 ~ 3mm from the enamel cementum boundary. But periodontitis can have bone resorption, which is 1/3, 1/2 or even more than 2/3 of the root length.
