Yichun University is a full-time ordinary institution of higher learning. It is the first experimental school of the Artificial Intelligence College Project of the Ministry of Education, the "100 million project" school of the Ministry of Education, the first batch of pilot universities for transformation and development in Jiangxi Province, and the demonstration base for innovation and entrepreneurship of college students in Jiangxi Province.
The school's predecessor was Yichun University founded by 1958. June 5438 +2000 10, approved by the Ministry of Education, Yichun Normal University, Yichun Medical College, Yichun Agricultural College and Yichun Amateur University were merged and upgraded to full-time public undergraduate colleges.
As of April 2022, the school has three campuses: the headquarters campus, the north campus and the new campus, covering an area of nearly 2,000 mu; Teaching colleges 19, 67 undergraduate majors, and master majors 1; Full-time students 19000, faculty 1522, including full-time teachers 1057.
