The former North Sichuan Institute of Education was founded in 1956. It has experienced the development and construction of Mianyang Junior Middle School Teacher Training Course, Mianyang University, Mianyang College, Mianyang Regional Middle School Teacher Training School, Mianyang Regional Teacher Training College, Mianyang Education College and North Sichuan Education College.
Established on 19 17, the former Sichuan Mechanical and Electrical Engineering School has successively experienced the Grade A Agricultural School in Baxian County, Lisan Vocational School in Baxian County, Chongqing Advanced Agricultural Vocational School, Chongqing No.1 Advanced Agricultural School, Chongqing Agricultural School, Chongqing Agricultural School in Sichuan Province, Chongqing Agricultural Mechanization School in Sichuan Province and Suining Agricultural Mechanization School in Sichuan Province.
In 2002, with the approval of the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, the two schools were merged by the Ministry of Education to form Sichuan Vocational and Technical College.
