"Quiet inside, water is still a mirror."
Two fables from Liu Yuxi about shooting cows with people.
Water without making waves is a saying of inner peace, so it is like a mirror. You should look at your heart and reflect it all the time. Your heart is clear. This is my humble opinion.
Still Water Flows Deep is from Shan Hai Jing.
Symbolizes that people are quiet and have a soft attitude; Deep Flow: It means that there is a valley in Qian Shan, which is really thoughtful and knowledgeable. The true meaning of still water and deep flow can be likened to the attitude of being a man: insight into everything and not being bound by contradictions or desires, so that you can have a harmonious life, long-term happiness and real freedom.
The source of "stop at the best" comes from the Book of Rites University: "The way of a university is to be virtuous and close to the people, and stop at the best."
The Book of Rites University was never published separately before the Southern Song Dynasty. According to legend, it was written by Zeng Shen, a disciple of Confucius (505-434 BC). In the Tang Dynasty, Han Yu and Li Ao regarded Daxue and the Doctrine of the Mean as equally important classics as Mencius and Yijing. In the Song Dynasty, Cheng Er and Zhu Xizu expounded this view and highly praised its position in the study of Confucian classics.
It aims to promote neo-Confucianism. Zhu called Daxue, The Doctrine of the Mean, The Analects of Confucius and Mencius "Four Books", which were published in the first year of the Southern Song Dynasty (1 190) and engraved into Notes on Four Books. Because The Analects of Confucius recorded Confucius' words and deeds, The University was written by Ceng Zi, The Doctrine of the Mean.
So it is also called "Four Books". During Yuan You's reign, the four books became the required classics for scholars.
Extended data
The Book of Rites University is an educational monograph written by China two thousand years ago, which discusses almost all the problems in education and teaching. The six principles of education and teaching summarized by him (preventive principle, timeliness principle, sequential principle, observation principle, long-term preservation principle, inspiration and guidance principle) are all emphasized in modern educational works.
Such a "masterpiece of the emperor" is only 1000 words. The simplicity and richness of its characters are incomparable to contemporary educational works. Why don't our educators read? China sages' educational and teaching works are not difficult to read, such as Xueji, Encouraging Learning, Teachers' Theory and Fundamentalism.
Very catchy. While reciting these excellent articles on education and teaching and the taste implication of China's classical culture, you will be consciously or unconsciously influenced by the educational wisdom of the sages, which is a very happy thing.
This is the charm of China culture. "Connecting the past and the present to plant its roots, and integrating Chinese and foreign to enrich its leaves" is the way for the prosperity and development of education in China.
