Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, formerly known as Central South Academy of Fine Arts, 1953 was established in Wuhan, Hubei Province with the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education. It is formed by the merger of Central South College of Literature and Art, South China People's College of Literature and Art, Guangxi Academy of Fine Arts and other related departments. 1958 Central South Academy of Fine Arts moved from Wuhan to Guangzhou and was renamed Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. 198 1 was awarded the first master's degree in China. 1987 began to recruit foreign, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students.
