Before choosing a violin, veronica will show you the basic structure of the violin.

(The violin structure diagram comes from the network)

The violin consists of more than 30 parts.

Its main components are piano head, chord, fingerboard, strings, piano codes, chin rest, string drawing board, panel, back board, side board, sound column, sound beam and so on.

The violin has four strings, namely: 1 string (e string), 2 strings (a string), 3 strings (d string) and 4 strings (g string).

The piano body consists of an arc-shaped panel, a back panel and a side panel. The front panel of Veronica's violin is Russian spruce, the back and side panels are maple, the piano head is all maple and the fingerboard is ebony.

The sound quality of a violin basically depends on its wood and corresponding structure. Veronica violins can spread the pitch and overtones of every sound equally sensitively.

After understanding the basic structure of the violin, Veronica will give you an overall introduction on how to choose and distinguish the quality of the violin.

First of all, we distinguish the quality of the violin from the front panel, back panel, side panel, piano head, accessories and paint surface, and choose a violin with excellent value for money.

1 ... analysis by the expert group

Panel material: Most violin panels are made of spruce wood.

Panel plays an important role in the sound quality of violin. If the panel is not standardized and accurate, it will directly affect the sound quality of the violin.

Generally, violin panels need to be naturally dried for more than 6 years, and a longer time is better. Veronica uses wood that has been naturally dried for more than 3000 days for each violin.

Look at the surface when choosing. First of all, the surface of the panel should not be scarred or repaired with turpentine, and the annual rings should be clear, not too wide and evenly spaced. Try not to choose wood with different ring widths. The mosaic lines on the panel are hand-inlaid, and some piano-making studios use stroke lines to achieve the feeling of hand-inlaid. Veronica reminds buyers that they need to be carefully identified.

2. Backplane analysis

Backboard material: maple (there are many varieties, all of which are produced in temperate regions of the northern hemisphere, and the best is the maple in Alpine Bosnia. Domestic producers are often produced in Sichuan)

The violin backboard is also very important. It forms a piano box together with the front panel and the side panel. It takes several years or even more than ten years for the wood of violin backboard and panel to be naturally dried to make high-quality violins. Backboard wood takes longer to dry than panel wood, because it is slow and difficult to dry. When choosing a violin, some people think that the piano with deep patterns should be given priority, which is understandable. Everyone likes a well-patterned backboard, but a well-patterned backboard may not sound good. Veronica suggested that the pattern of the backboard is not the only criterion for choosing a violin.

The backboard of a cheap violin is glued to the skin and easy to distinguish. The patterns attached to the skin are generally uniform in size and extremely uniform and clear, while the patterns of natural maple are slightly different in size.

Violin backboard is divided into jigsaw puzzle and veneer, which has no substantial influence on the sound quality of violin, but its appearance is different and can be selected according to personal preference.

3. Analysis from the side plate and the piano head

The back plate, side plate and head of the violin are all made of the same kind of wood.

Violin side panels are easy to bend when they are hot-bent, especially those with good patterns. If they are not bent completely, they may be unsmooth or cracked. Therefore, when selecting, observe the side panel and touch it with your fingers to see if there is any dead bending, which usually happens in approach angle, and then observe the side panel as a whole for cracks.

Veronica's violin head is carved by hand.

4. Fingerboard analysis

The fingerboards of violins are basically made of ebony. When choosing a violin, you can turn the violin sideways, holding the middle waist position in one hand and the head in the other, and see if the side plate is deformed from the head. If there is deformation, it may be because the piano has been stored for too long after it is made. It may also be caused by the unreliable quality of the fingerboard.

5. Analysis from sound hole and sound column.

The violin sound hole is also a place to observe the quality of a violin. Sound holes are like delicate human eyes, and imperfect pruning will affect the appearance.

A well-made violin, the sound column and sound beam can't see its whole picture, only part of it can be seen through the sound hole.

6. Analyze from the paint

Violin painting mainly depends on your hobbies, such as light color or dark color. Veronica violins are all colored with Chinese herbal medicines, and each violin needs to be painted and polished repeatedly for more than 30 times to make the texture of wood clear and bright.

7. Accessories analysis

Chord shaft, fingerboard, chord pillow, chord board and chin rest are all commonly used ebony. In addition to ebony fingerboards, others can use jujube and mahogany, and Brazilian mahogany and European boxwood are also used abroad, which are also rare and expensive.

Piano code plays an important role in the acoustic performance of violin, and the selection and trimming of piano code is one of the main tasks in violin assembly.

Commonly used imported piano codes are: AUBERT (French Aubert piano code), DESPIAU (French Sanshu piano code), TELLER (German Taylor piano code) and so on.

? Violin strings include nylon strings, aluminum-magnesium strings and steel strings.

Foreign string brands: Dominant and Vision solo are violin strings produced by Thomastik-Infeld and Evah Pirazzi of Austria.

Alias (Green Beauty) is also called (Green Devil), and gold Eva Pirazzi is also called (Golden Devil), which is an advanced version of Green Devil, Larsen and Peter.

Infield, Wondertone solo, Obligato, also known as (Red Sun), Tonika.
