Weathered pebbles
The following is the formation process of pebbles:
Rock weathering: The rock surface is affected by natural factors such as solar radiation, wind force and temperature change, and it begins to peel off and disintegrate slowly.
Movement of cuttings: cuttings are carried to other places by water flow or glacier movement, and gradually become smooth and round stones after a long period of scouring and friction.
Sedimentation: After a long period of erosion and deposition, stones gradually deposit on the bottom of rivers, oceans or lakes, forming layers of sediments.
Compaction: With the increase of the number of sediment layers, the pressure of the upper sediment gradually increases, which makes the lower sediment gradually compact and makes the stones closely combined with the sediment.
Geological movement: under the action of geological movement, the strata are deformed, stones and sediments are squeezed and folded, and finally sedimentary rocks, including pebbles, are formed.
