Pragmatic pedagogy is an educational trend of thought, which originated in the United States at the end of 19 and the beginning of the 20th century. In pragmatic pedagogy, American philosophers and educators Dewey and Ke Qubo are considered as representative figures. Dewey's works Democracy and Education, Experience and Education and Ke Qubo's Design Pedagogy are regarded as important representative works of pragmatic pedagogy. The proposal and development of pragmatic pedagogy is based on the criticism of traditional pedagogy, especially that represented by Herbart.
