Guilin University of Electronic Technology is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and Guangxi, and selected as one of the national "Basic Capacity Building Projects for Universities in the Midwest". The national "Basic Capacity Building Project of Universities in the Midwest" was selected as a university. The school was founded on 1960. 1980 Guilin Institute of Electronic Technology was established with the approval of the State Council. In 2006, it was renamed Guilin University of Electronic Technology. The school covers an area of 4 153 mu and has four campuses: Jinjiling Campus, Liuhe Road Campus, Huajiang Campus and Beihai Campus. There are more than 3,300 faculty members and 4 1477 full-time students. The school now offers 7/kloc-0 undergraduate majors, 20 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degrees and 5 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degrees.
