Universities and polytechnics in Singapore belong to the series of higher education institutions. The institutions of higher learning invested and operated by the Singapore government include 6 universities and 5 polytechnics. Among them, six universities can award diplomas with bachelor's degrees or above. Five polytechnics can issue professional education diplomas. The curriculum, management and level of these schools are generally recognized, and are also recognized by the Ministry of Education of China.
