Category B: Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai, Xinjiang, Tibet, Hainan, Guangxi, Inner Mongolia, Yunnan and Guizhou.
Colleges in Area B are located in the west, and they will be in a "relatively easy position" in terms of the number of applicants, enrollment, difficulty in marking papers, and scores. Although these places are not as attractive as first-tier cities such as Beishangguang, these institutions are generally located in provincial capitals or regional centers and have a strong appeal in the local area.
National East (A) Line or 1 District (Type A candidates): Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan and Guangdong.
National Line B (West Line A) or Zone 2 (B examinee): Chongqing, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Hebei, Shanxi, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Anhui and Jiangxi.
National Line C (West Line B) or Zone III (Class C candidates): Inner Mongolia, Guangxi, Hainan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Tibet, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia and Xinjiang.
