In the thirty-second year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1906), Haicheng County High School was founded. At the beginning of its establishment, the High School Auditorium was located in the northeast corner of the county (now Haiyuan No.3 Middle School Center), with a total of 3 1 rooms, one teacher and more than ten students. Every year, various dental offices raise 940,000 words as funds. The principal calls the dean and the teacher calls the teacher. At the time of rapid social changes in the late Qing Dynasty, Haicheng County Middle School played a positive role in the spread of modern scientific knowledge, advanced technology and improved ideas in Haiyuan.
Second, the initial development period-Haiyuan county high school period.
In January of the first year of the Republic of China (A.D. 19 12), the Ministry of Education of Nanjing Provisional Government promulgated Article 14 of the Interim Measures for General Education, which stipulated: "All schools in the past shall be renamed schools." Accordingly, Haicheng County High School began to be renamed Haicheng County High School. At the same time, the original principal will be renamed as the principal, and each level will be equipped with another level of teachers (who will also be in charge of departmental affairs) and specialist teachers (mainly responsible for subject teaching) as appropriate. In the third year of the Republic of China (A.D. 19 14), because of the same name as Haicheng County in Liaoning Province, Haicheng County was changed to Haiyuan County, and the school name was also changed to Haiyuan County High School. From 19 12 to 192 1 year, under the historical conditions of the struggle between the Republican system and the feudal restoration system, the primary and secondary schools in Haiyuan county have been initially developed.
In the ninth year of the Republic of China (A.D. 1920), all the original facilities of the school were destroyed in the Haiyuan earthquake that shocked China and foreign countries. The earthquake destroyed the original school building, and teachers and students fled for their lives. The school was closed for two years.
Third, the initial normative period-Haiyuan county senior primary school period
In the 12th year of the Republic of China (A.D. 1923), people from all walks of life in Haiyuan, who survived the earthquake, began to rebuild their schools on the original site in order to continue their interrupted education. This is a historical witness that Haiyuan people love education and advocate civilization, and it is also a difficult pioneering work of the school. After the completion of the new school, the name of the school was also renamed Haiyuan County Senior Primary School. At that time, the newly established school, the main part of the campus is a quadrangle-style school building, with five auditoriums (with open columns) on the front; There are seven rooms in a building in the south, with an aisle in the middle and classrooms on the left and right; There are seven student dormitories or other rooms in East and West. At that time, the facade of Haiyuan county senior primary school was quite exquisite, about 5 meters high, with brick carvings and iron flowers. On both sides of the school gate hangs a pair of brick couplets with profound meanings and neat antithesis: "Learn from China and the West, respect what you hear, do and know, and cultivate pure talents."
This couplet is a concentrated expression of the school's purpose in this period, and it is also the "Draft of Educational System Reform" promulgated by the Ministry of Education of Beijing Government in October when Haiyuan Senior Primary School began to implement the "Ren Xu Educational System". Because it was in "Ren Xu", it was called it. At the same time, in order to distinguish it from the academic system promulgated in the early years of the Republic of China, it is also called the "new academic system". According to the provisions of the academic system, primary school is 6 years, which is divided into two levels: primary school and high school; Four years of primary school can be set up independently, and compulsory education is based on these four years; Senior primary school is 2 years old and cannot be established separately. However, in view of the actual development of Haiyuan education, the school is still running as a senior primary school. Therefore, until 1936, the school still only accepts students in the upper grades of primary schools and does not accept students in the middle and lower grades. Therefore, although the scale of the school was limited, it maintained a high level of running a school and became the highest institution of learning and the cradle of talent growth in Haiyuan County at that time.
During this period, the school-running direction of Haiyuan senior primary school is: to meet the needs of social progress, to give play to the spirit of civilian education, to seek personality development, to attach importance to the national economic strength, to strengthen students' life education, and to make education easy to popularize. This new school-running direction further standardizes the school-running behavior, makes the school's education and teaching behavior undergo profound changes, and makes Haiyuan senior primary school and Haiyuan education gradually embark on the road of standardization.
