When and where was the Chinese Character List of General Specification published?
Chinese Character List of General Specification 20 13 was released in the State Council on June 5th.

The List of Chinese Characters with General Norms is the supporting standard of the National Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on Common Languages and Characters, and it is a set of universal standardized characters for recording modern Chinese, which embodies the norms of modern Chinese characters in terms of word quantity, word level and font. On June 5th, 20 13, the State Council issued a notice on publishing the list of Chinese characters with general specifications, and the State Council agreed to the list of Chinese characters with general specifications formulated by the Ministry of Education and the State Language Commission, and published it. A total of 8 105 Chinese characters were collected.

The Chinese Character List of General Specification consists of 8 105 characters and is divided into three levels.

The first-level vocabulary is a collection of commonly used words, with 3500 words, which mainly meets the basic needs of basic education and cultural popularization. The second-level vocabulary has 3000 words, second only to the first-level words.

There are 6500 words in the primary and secondary thesaurus, which mainly meet the needs of publishing, printing, dictionary compilation, information processing and other common words.

There are 1605 words in the three-level thesaurus, which are commonly used words in surnames, place names, technical terms and classical Chinese in primary and secondary school Chinese textbooks, and mainly meet the needs of using words in special fields closely related to public life in the information age.
