Taiyuan City Vocational and Technical College, located in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, is an ordinary public institution of higher learning. It was registered with the approval of the Shanxi Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Education. In 2003, it was formed by the merger of Taiyuan Economic Management Cadre College, Taiyuan Industrial Economics School and Taiyuan Urban Construction School. Since 2000, it has obtained the national general higher education enrollment qualification.

It consists of seven departments: Engineering Economics Department, Accounting Department, Management Engineering Department, Urban Construction Department, Art Design Department, Information Engineering Department and Electromechanical Engineering Department. Its major involves rail transit, finance, management, architecture, art, information and equipment manufacturing. This is a comprehensive university.

The college offers majors that closely meet the needs of provincial and municipal economic development, and has three major professional groups: modern architecture, modern manufacturing and modern service. There are 24 enrollment majors, including urban construction department, engineering economics department, accounting department, management engineering department, art design department, electromechanical engineering department, information engineering department, basic teaching department, adult education department, secondary vocational cooperation guidance department and ideological and political theory teaching department.

In order to meet the needs of the rapid development of rail transit in Taiyuan and Shanxi Province, the College and Taiyuan Rail Transit Development Co., Ltd. successively signed a joint school-running agreement, an order agreement and a school-enterprise cooperation agreement from 20 13 to 20 17 to jointly build a rail transit branch school and a Taiyuan urban rail transit training base.

There are 5500 students in the school now. The evidence collection rate of students' various vocational certificates is over 95%. According to the survey data of Xinjincheng Company, a third-party survey agency, the average employment rate of graduates of the 20th17th class reached 90.87%, and employers were highly satisfied with the graduates of our college.
