Liaocheng Economic and Technological Development Zone is located in the northeast of Liaocheng City. Construction started on 1995, and was approved as a national economic and technological development zone by the State Council in March 20 13. Liaocheng is located at the junction of Hebei, Shandong and Henan provinces, bordering Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei in the north and the Yangtze River Delta in the south. It is an important channel for the economic circle of Jinan provincial capital city group and the Central Plains Economic Zone.

Basic situation
Liaocheng Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee is located at Dongchang Road 107. It has jurisdiction over seven township sub-district offices, namely Dongcheng Sub-district Office, Jiangguantun Sub-district Office, Beicheng Sub-district Office (formerly Beiji Town), Xu Ying Town, Guguantun Town, Guangping Town and Hanji Town, with a total population of nearly 300,000 and an area of 389.4 square kilometers.
In July of 20 13, Liaocheng Economic and Technological Development Zone and Liaocheng High-tech Industrial Development Zone were managed separately. Liaocheng Economic and Technological Development Zone was divided into huanghe road, East Outer Ring Road and East Extension Line of Changjiang Road (which runs through Weishan and a main canal), with Liaocheng Economic and Technological Development Zone in the north and Liaocheng High-tech Industrial Development Zone in the south.

The jurisdiction of Liaocheng Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone covers the south of huanghe road, the west of the East Outer Ring Road (from huanghe road to the intersection of the Yangtze River) and the south of the east extension line of the Yangtze River Road, including Xu Ying Town, Guguantun Town and Hanji Township, and a part of the Dongcheng Office.
The two districts are completely independent units in the city, and they are still collectively referred to as Liaocheng Economic and Technological Development Zone or Liaocheng High-tech Industrial Development Zone.
