I will communicate mainly around three aspects:
Why: Why do you want to learn ORID?
What: What is ORID?
How to: How to Use ORID
Why: Why study ORID?
In our work and life, people will inevitably have all kinds of emotions. Let me give a few scenes around me as examples:
1. A small partner in the work team did something, but it was not the result that the team wanted. Knowing the situation, the little friend feels very wronged.
During the inter-departmental meeting, I talked about last year's work and this year's plan. After listening to the explanations from other departments, some colleagues still don't know what he has done and what he intends to do, and they are ignorant and angry at their procrastination.
3. The child has a friction with his classmate because of one thing and wants to stop playing with that classmate.
Have you ever encountered a similar emotional situation around you? In my working and living environment, it is common to deal with all kinds of emotional problems. After using ORID, it is of great help to my work management ideas and parenting education. The main reason may be that the way of thinking has improved.
Why do you say that? The thinking mode of the human brain is that the left and right brains of the brain undertake two functions: rational thinking and perceptual expression respectively. Simply emphasizing either side may be unbalanced, and it is often difficult to extricate oneself from the emotional pit. If we blindly emphasize rationality, there will often be all kinds of inhuman embarrassment and indifference. Therefore, if the two brains can be parallel, it is easier to achieve emotional balance and stability and jump out of the pit.
ORID allows us to combine rational thinking and emotional expression perfectly. Let's take a look at what ORID is.
What: What is ORID?
ORID: In China's words, this is a way of speaking, and it is true.
It follows the natural thinking process of human beings (the combination of rationality and sensibility) and is a structured way of asking questions.
The basic structural logic of ORID questioning is:
O: data, facts
R: experience, feel
Experience may be difficult to understand, but you can intuitively imagine it as feelings and emotions.
? Me:? Understand, perceive
? D: action and decision-making
How to: How to use ORID to jump out of the emotional pit?
Let's look at a case ... performance coaching in our department.
My solution is to talk to A first, ask him how hard he has been working recently, how the project is progressing, and see if he needs support. Let's talk.
I had an in-depth conversation with him in the way of ORID in the PPT picture below.
The problem of finding A mainly lies in upward communication and cross-departmental cooperation. Instead of looking for the superior leader of colleague B first, he directly docked with colleague B and asked for a job. Naturally, he will encounter difficulties. Through ORID, he realized this. His solution is to organize a communication meeting immediately, sort out the current work progress, and classify what he has to do personally and what the cooperation department can solve through transferring people.
As a result, A completed the activities and other work within one week according to the original plan. Although he took several people to work overtime, A gained a lot, and I personally gained a lot, because this time, I didn't help him directly, but asked him to find a way by asking questions, and finally got the result we hoped to see. . He grew up and I relaxed.
Is it practical? ORID can be used in many environments, such as training, parenting education, team leadership, efficient meetings and so on. I won't give examples here.
Of course, ORID is not everything.
When the interviewee has a decision and action plan to solve the problem, it is not appropriate for us to use ORID to ask each other questions. Give direct support and encouragement.
ORID has many specific usage scenarios, which can be used in training, personal learning, parenting education, counseling subordinates and other scenarios. ORID is very suitable for dealing with emotions.
Of course, in order to return to rational thinking and solve problems, we can also play a better role by combining the thinking methods such as coach's acceptance and listening, and make ORID in-depth interview a good tool to help ourselves and others.
My sharing is over. Let's make a summary review. what did i say? ……432 1
4. Four questioning levels of 4.ORID
Data fact+feeling emotion+understanding and cognition+action decision
3. Three suitable roles and characters of 3.ORID
Trainer+Coach Manager+Yourself (Everyone)
2. Two dimensions of 2.ORID brain thinking logic
Rational thinking in left brain+perceptual expression in right brain
1: 1 ORID warning
The object of the dialogue has already made decisions and actions, so there is no need for ORID.
Thanks for watching! Growth is everyone's own business, learning needs a good mood and state to invest, I hope everyone can find ways to jump out of the emotional pit and meet a better self!
