About the author:

Ye Lang is a senior professor of philosophy and social sciences in Peking University.

1960 graduated from philosophy department of Peking University. At the same time, he is the head of the three departments of philosophy, religion and art in Peking University, and now he is a professor in the philosophy department of Peking University. He is also the president of Peking University Art Institute, the president of Peking University Cultural Industry Research Institute, the director of Peking University Aesthetics and Aesthetic Education Research Center, the president of Beijing Philosophy Society and the vice chairman of Beijing Social Science Federation.

His major works include A Bamboo in the Chest, Can't Stop, Outline of the History of Chinese Aesthetics, Aesthetics of China's Novels, China Culture Reader (co-authored with Zhu Liangzhi), Modern Aesthetics System (editor-in-chief) and China Aesthetics Library (editor-in-chief).
